Stayed here for 2 nights in January. Arrived about 2 hours before check in time and got our room right away(I'm pretty sure they weren't any where close to capacity.) Got a comp upgrade maybe due to the fact that I am a platinum rewards member, originally booked a 2 queen room using my points and was put in a king room with a fireplace with a good size bathroom. Seems to be recently renovated so over look the other reviews from a year or to ago as the pics are not what the rooms look like now. Staff including house keeping are helpful and pleasant. There are however a few improvements that are needed. First, the door to our room did not have a proper seal on the bottom of the door thus allowing a small draft into the room I'm also not crazy about the exterior entrances to the room makes for a loud morning when someone starts their diesel truck at 7:30am ( not the hotel/motels fault though.) My other issues were with the on site restaurant, we ate both breakfast and dinner there( they are not open for lunch) and the servers we had to their credit were really polite, but it is not acceptable in my mind to wait 15min until you are first greeted at your table and then to wait 45min for your main course to show up. The prices you pay for dinner are similar to what you would pay in a Westin but this is not a Westin! As far as breakfast is concerned, again very polite but to wait again 15min for a latte is an issue and then after waiting again 35-45 min for breakfast to arrive is not acceptable. The funny thing is the server new it too, she apologized for the delay with some excuse that there was only one cook, I found this hard to believe considering a couple showed up after us and got their food before us and were already gone before we even got our food again for 2 breakfast entrees,latte,tea and fruit plate the bill was 43.00 ouch! I would expect better service for this price.... seems to be understaffed. The hotel is very clean and bed was very comfortable. Would I stay here again if in Tofino maybe. By the way the front desk recommended a place to eat off site just down the road, Shelter restraurant excellent service and great food with an awesome atmosphere!
