“Absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Birdsong.”

We went to Salt Spring for a Family wedding and decided to stay in a B&B. Having stayed in many hotels and B&B's in the UK and europe, we didn't expect five star service. However, we were totally blown away by the service, cleanliness and beauty of Birdsong. The food was fantastic. Just thinking about the breakfast makes me long to go back.
This B&B scored 5 stars across the board for my family and I.
I would highly recommend Birdsong to anyone wanting luxury at an affordable price.

“Amazing hospitality, amazing stay - couldn't be better.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2010

From the time we arrived and got the royal welcome from Ed and Bill being assured that no request is too much to the fond farewell at the end it was all superb. We stayed in the delightful beautifully decorated cabin which is just a few hundred feet from the house. Fabulous hospitality and such interesting people. Loved the hottub. We even had our own washer/dryer which really came in handy. It was so quiet and yet only 7 min. drive to town. We would definitely stay here again. Absolutely loved it.

“Wonderful Location and very comfortable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2010

We stayed in the upstairs Hummingbird room which has a small but comfortable balcony with a lovely view of the water, a clawfoot bathtub and plenty of room to stretch out. The location is off the beaten path yet close to enough to Ganges to make quick dinner or grocery runs. Our host Eduard was very accommodating, gave us plenty of good information about things to do and see and yet left us to our selves. He was especially helpful when our ferry plans were changed due to an accident in Vancouver by offering suggestions as to how we might work with BC Ferry to re-route our plans, and offering to pack us a light breakfast to take with us to the early ferrry. We were very happy to see that the Inn is decorated comfortably with objects that reflect the hosts good tastes and not the usual Victorian and lace decor that one usually finds in B&Bs.

“Very relaxing holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2010

You could not find better hosts than Edward and Bill. They are genuine and generous. We stayed in the Hummingbird room with a very nice view and a comfortable bed with luxurious Italian sheets. The room was comfortable despite the very hot days and we slept well. We also enjoyed the gourmet breakfasts.

“Like visiting your doting uncles...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

Staying with Bill and Edward at Birdsong is like visiting your pair of doting uncles, who are delighted to see you and proceed to spoil you royally for the rest of your visit. Our favourite part of the day is always breakfast, when we sit about the kitchen, watching an incredible meal being created, and sharing stories and adventures with both gentlemen and their dogs, Fred and Ethel. Not for dieters - scrambled egg croissants with hollandaise, baked French toast, light-as-air souffle...and much laughter.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and the housekeeping is impeccable. Would you believe ironed sheets?! The bedrooms face the ocean, so you greet the morning with a wide expanse of blue sky and water, and yes, you can hear the birds!

You will find they have plenty of information (both printed and verbal) about the island and its restaurants, artists, and foibles, all of which encourage much exploring of the area.

We have just returned from our fifth visit with these wonderful gentlemen, and are already plotting a return for the autumn.
