“SUBLIME”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2009

What can one say except Hear! Hear! The peace I experienced during my stay at Clam Beach Cottage has no equal. It is no wonder that guests return year after year...as I hope to next year. As with others, we chose not to wander far...but relished each day at the cottage..literally from sunrise to sunset. The weather was absolutely perfect...I shall post pictures. Sharon and Bob - the consummate hosts - assisted when required but left us to enjoy their restful haven. My partner, girlfriend and I had flown via Saltspring Air from Vancouver...also a unique and magical experience.
Indeed, a most breathtaking, soul-calming, memory-enriching sojourn.

“Living in the Now”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2009

Eckhart Tolle, a renown, new age spiritualist, outlines the enlightenment, tranquility and peace that can that can be found by learning to "Live in the Now".
If there was ever a place that can provide a setting to foster achieving that state of enlightenment, tranquility, and peace it is Clam Beach Cottage on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.

Again this year (2009) we again spent 3 days at the cottage from April 17 to 19 inclusive, and on reflection, it is by far our favorite "get away".

As usual, we were welcomed to Clam Beach and made to feel right at home by our wonderful, warm hostess, Sharon Brewer with behind the scene support from her terrific husband, Bob.

Clam Beach Cottage is: a beautiful, roomy, cozy, peaceful, self-contained, stand alone, fully equipped cottage right on the ocean shoreline. When you are relaxing on the large cedar front deck at high tide, it is as if you were at rest on the ocean itself.

We spent hours sitting on the deck watching the Blue Herons fishing, a Bald Eagle circling overhead, and numerous water birds going about their daily rituals.

The front of the cottage and deck area face east and each morning we were treated to a fabulous sunrise, followed by a gourmet breakfast with wonderful ingredients provided by Sharon.

There is certainly lots to see and do on Salt Spring Island, but our preference is to always spend as much time as we can at the cottage itself, concluding the day with a gourmet BBQ and soothing hot tub on the deck before retiring.

Clam Beach Cottage is certainly our little piece of paradise and we plan on at least an annual pilgrimage.

“A sea-side cottage with boutique hotel luxury!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2009

We just loved this cottage! Everything, from the spectacular view right down to the smallest detail was perfect. The cottage is so charming, and comfortable that we really didn't even feel like leaving to go sight-seeing for the day! Sharon has provided all the touches of luxury that you would expect in a boutique hotel - crisp linens, candles, local organic foods, homemade granola, the list goes on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to stay again sometime soon.

“dream little house”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2009

One thinks hard before writing a review about a place that one does not want to be discovered….Clam Beach Cottage is a pure gem! If you want total relaxation in serene atmosphere overlooking quiet sea and fauna, yet being treated like you are in a 5 stars hotel, this is the place for you. Sharon is the perfect host, charming, there when you need her and knows how to keep your privacy. Clam Beach Cottage is a small house with beautiful vistas, a double deck, steps to the clam beach. You have a spotless, bright and cheerful living room/dining room, fully equipped white kitchen, bedroom with a heavenly bed, robes and slippers, hot tub on the deck, flat screen TV with lots of DVDs, sound system with lots of CDs. Sharon will give you fresh flowers, chocolates; lots of wonderful stuff to cook your own breakfast including her delicious homemade granola….she will even give you recipes on how to cook fresh lamb on the BBQ. We had lovely halibut (Sharon told us where to buy it), baking (idem). Sharon will tell you about trails, places to have a snack or lunch, where to shop, etc. Bob will talk to you between fixing something in the house; great guy. The setting of the cottage is like a dream, even when it rains, it is great. Just imagine watching stars in a black velvet sky while sitting in your hot tub on the deck! I have never had such a wonderful, relaxing holiday.

“Peace and Beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2008

This place is superb!

Sharon is the perfect hostess, appearing just when you have a need or question arise, like magic! She was at the ready with information and answers to your questions--if she did not know the answer immediately, she would find out for you pronto! Delightful culinary surprises would show up, as well as fresh linens and flowers whenever we returned to the cottage after being out on the island.

The cottage is, quite simply, lovely. Every amenity you could imagine is available, with scrumptious bath products, a soothing hot tub, plenty of cozy spots with great lighting to curl up with a book, anything you could possibly need for cooking a great meal, and an absolutely heavenly comfortable bed! The natural light in the cottage is fantastic and will rejuvenate you with sunshine! The views are so beautiful, for you are right on the water, and enjoy the sight of Wallace Island just across the sound.

Hiking is plentiful with trails leading to the most gorgeous views. Kayaks are available for your use--just down your steps to the shell beach and into the water! The many artists on the island will delight you, and the Saturday market is a must-see, with homemade goodies galore.

As lovely as this little place of peace and beauty is, I must say that the best part of all was gaining new friends, Sharon and Bob. They are genuinely lovely people, and made our stay so special. One cannot go wrong by coming to Clam Beach Cottage!
