Eckhart Tolle, a renown, new age spiritualist, outlines the enlightenment, tranquility and peace that can that can be found by learning to "Live in the Now".
If there was ever a place that can provide a setting to foster achieving that state of enlightenment, tranquility, and peace it is Clam Beach Cottage on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
Again this year (2009) we again spent 3 days at the cottage from April 17 to 19 inclusive, and on reflection, it is by far our favorite "get away".
As usual, we were welcomed to Clam Beach and made to feel right at home by our wonderful, warm hostess, Sharon Brewer with behind the scene support from her terrific husband, Bob.
Clam Beach Cottage is: a beautiful, roomy, cozy, peaceful, self-contained, stand alone, fully equipped cottage right on the ocean shoreline. When you are relaxing on the large cedar front deck at high tide, it is as if you were at rest on the ocean itself.
We spent hours sitting on the deck watching the Blue Herons fishing, a Bald Eagle circling overhead, and numerous water birds going about their daily rituals.
The front of the cottage and deck area face east and each morning we were treated to a fabulous sunrise, followed by a gourmet breakfast with wonderful ingredients provided by Sharon.
There is certainly lots to see and do on Salt Spring Island, but our preference is to always spend as much time as we can at the cottage itself, concluding the day with a gourmet BBQ and soothing hot tub on the deck before retiring.
Clam Beach Cottage is certainly our little piece of paradise and we plan on at least an annual pilgrimage.
