Andrees is a very homey and welcoming B&B. We stayed for eight nights and felt from the beginning as if it were our own home. Guests have exclusive use of a very cozy, well-decorated living room that opens out onto a deck full of flowers and comfortable furniture. It has a gorgeous view of the harbor and part of the town below. If you're lucky enough to experience a Prince Rupert sunset, this is definitely the place to see it! And, if you look closely, you may see a resident bald eagle family.
The house is a renovated "heritage home" built sometime in the 20s perhaps. The owners have decorated the living areas with various artifacts from that era and with items that speak to Prince Rupert's link with the sea and its history. We had Room #4, the largest, with a view of the harbor, and our own private bath with an old-fashioned clawfoot tub--charming. With the bracing sea air breezing in through a window, we slept very well indeed.
Breakfasts were very nicely done and varied; the cycle only repeated after six days, and ranged from frittatas to french toast to an excellent porridge with raisins and brown sugar.
And, Andrees is only a couple of blocks from Cow Bay, and 3-4 blocks from most other main attractions. We felt that Andrees was an excellent value for money and would not hesitate to book it again were we to pay a return visit to PR.
