Well we should have known better when check in was a nightmare. Chose the hotel as we were there for a child's swim meet. Room requested was dirty, floors not vacuumed and the tub did not drain. The baseboard heaters were not covered and rusted coils could be seen plainly. Not a room for children. Good thing mine was 9. Neither phone in the room worked nor did the TV remote which was okay because upon turning on the TV it buzzed too hard to bother watching. Power went out the morning of our second stay for 5 hours. Maintenance man said fridge items would be okay as long as we didn't open the fridge. Could not use our room as the smoke alarms on the floor were too loud as a result of the power going out. Some guests were however offered ear plugs. The maintenance guy couldn't deal with all detectors as "I'm responsible for 17 floors" kept him busy. When asked if we would be receiving a credit on our bill..at this point I would've settled for a cup of coffee prior to walking my 7 flights to my room. I was told "The general manager lives in Vancouver and he considers this an act of God" so no we won't be doing anything. The final straw however was when the road back to Terrace was closed and the hotel offered us to stay in the room til 4 pm but neglected to update our pass keys locking us out of our room. This hotel is probably one of the worst I have ever been too from start to finish. Would never recommend it in fact I will be going out of my way to let others know of this horrific experience.
