I was leaving my room at the Sandman Signature Hotel in Prince George ready to write a glowing review on this site. I had spent a week in this new hotel in a room that surpassed my expectations in layout, features, decor, and cleanliness. The Corporate King Suite room contained 2 wall mounted flat screen tvs, a kitchen, a sitting area with sectional couch, and excellent internet service.
And then I arrived at the front desk to check out at about 645 am. I stood there, patiently waiting for the customer service person at the desk to acknowledge my existence for a minute or so, when he finally looked up from his facebook page or whatever he was looking at on his computer screen, and without a word looked at me quizzically like he had never seen a customer before. After a moment of awkward silence, I said "Hi, I'd like to check out please."
After that the only words spoken to me by him were "Room? Name?" and that was it. Now by no means would I require this person to engage me in a lengthy conversation about how my stay was, but it would have been nice if he had the courtesy before I quietly walked away with the receipt he wordlessly threw across the counter at me to at least say "Thanks" or even "Goodbye".
In summary, a very disappointing end to an otherwise excellent stay.
