“Fine for what it is.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We booked at the last minute to take advantage of their $88 last minute special and that's what the room was worth. As others have stated, the building is old, but it is clean and the staff were good. Painless checking in and when leaving.

The "free" breakfast is great if you can get by with a coffee and a bagel.

If you're looking for a destination resort type of place, this isn't it. If you want a clean room at a decent price, it's OK.

Room Tip: Get a room on the second floor to cut down on the noise.

“It was OK, but just”

The ladies at the front desk were very helpfull moving us into a room with a balcony overlooking the pool rather than the parking lot. It is a 2 storied wood building and we were on the second floor, no elevator. Glad to be up there because the floor squeaks when you walk. I can't imagine how loud it would be during the Summer when it's full of kids in the pool.

The room was a nice size with a fridge but no microwave. The bathroom was big enough to have a sink but in was in the room instead. Breakfast buffet was passable but nothing to make you go back. A restaurant is on the property but no menu in the room, walked down to it on the Monday and found out it was closed.

On the second morning about 7:00 the fire alarm went off then stopped and went off again. Stept out into the hall and an employee walked passed, doing some investigating it turned out, he didn't say a word, just as if I wasn't there. Anyway, it kept on ringing and shutting off for over an hour. On check out it was kind off laughed off by the front desk.

I will try someplace else next time.

“Good location for concert goers!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

Stayed one night here while attending a concert. It was a great location and walking distance to the Event Centre which is why we choose it in the first place. They were friendly at check in and the only thing that was disappointing was that we did not have a room with a patio as it was such a gorgeous sunny day and we would have liked to have access to the courtyard. Breakfast was also included in the stay, which we did not realize, so that was great in the morning to grab a coffee and bagel before taking off back home.

“A nice place in the sun”

This hotel sounds a little nicer than reality in the reviews. It has been renovated but the building feels its age. The room smelled like stale smoke (but we got used to it quickly). There is a larger pool in the courtyard but it isn't great for small children (it's mostly over 4 feet). Inside, there's a small pool and hot tub. The hotel is about 500 m from the beach. The beds were very comfortable and the room itself was quite large. The walls are a little thin and our neighbour's TV was quite obvious. Breakfast was good, not exciting.

Although the review sounds less than stellar, we were still happy and would return. Judging from the outside, this is still the nicest hotel in Penticton.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the outside of the hotel (away from the pool in the inner courtyard). The LocoLand...
