I spent a night at this Charming and Delightful B & B...and enjoyed it immensly, my only regret was I should have stayed longer

Breakfasts are wonderful, and charming hosts, Audrey and Ivan.....

Location - incredible...Ocean views spectacular....on a quite street....and arrival of all the deer to feed on apples provided by our hosts was quite incredible

Overall, It is a must to spend a night or two or longer as there is so much to see and do the the area

“A nice place to stay especially if you are handicapped!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2008

The first thing we noticed when trying to find the B&B was all the deer in the neighborhood. I've never seen anything like it! There were literally deer in every yard so be careful when driving.

We had the Captain's Suite which is very spacious and clean. The king size bed was the most comfortable one we slept on during our entire trip which is saying a lot! The jacuzzi tub was very nice for warming up after a long day of touring the island.
It was nice to have a small fridge and coffee maker in the room too.

I really have to say if you are handicapped this would be perfect place to stay. Audrey and Ivan have gone to great lengths to accommodate any type of handicap from hearing impaired to wheelchair bound. It wasn't strange or uncomfortable either for someone with no handicaps, which has been the case in some hotels I've stayed in.

Audrey was very helpful and gave us some great itineraries and suggestions. The only disappointment I had was that it wasn't actually on the waterfront. This is my fault though since the information provided on their website says "ocean view".

“A wonderfully ideosyncratic bed and breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2008

What a wonderful B+B. We stayed at Rocky Point in early September 2008 and enjoyed every moment. What is special about it?

- a splendid host, facinating to listen to, and very considerate of the needs of guests;
- spotlessly clean bedrooms/lounges/washrooms ( we had booked all of the accommodation so had access to all rooms );
-big spacious rooms with every facility to make the stay comfortable, nothing missing whatsoever;
-wonderful views out to sea and only a few minutes from the centre of Nanaimo;
-beautifully presented, large, interesting and tasty breakfasts;
-easy car access and parking and private entrance to rooms;

Audrey, the host, has a remarkable collection of every kind of artistic creation which are liberally distributed throughout every room including the washrooms.- pictures,ornaments, lighting units, fabrics and much much more. It is a very individual collection which was facinating to view and memorable.

We had a great time. A 'must' to visit because of its individuality.

“Deer at the door, very safe locale.”

Quiet, safe neighbourhood was ideal for my visit to Nanaimo where I was visiting my daughter and grandchildren. Audrey made me comfortable and Ivan cooked up meals that are the envy of European Chefs.
I took walks in the area and found that the deer are very tame, coming to see Ivan in the morning for an apple.
The B&B is close to the sea, so it was convenient to take the grandkids to the shore when they visited. The views are stunning.
If you like being spoiled in deluxe bathrooms and beds with movies on the TV, this is the ideal place.

“Some people obviously prefer blands”

Wow I read the people complaining about the decor and all I can say is they must be pretty bland people. Rocky Point B&B is definitely not bland in decor, in fact it is very interesting and if somebody thinks the treasures Audrey has collected all over the world and displays so abundantly can be found at a garage sale or flea market please tell me where to find those flea markets. To say the place is eclectic is somewhat an understatement, it is a visual feast for the eyes for people who enjoy the unusual. Audrey and Yvon are wonderful hosts, the food is great, the beds are so easy to drift away in and wake up refreshed and ready for a new adventure. I've stayed there numerous times and let me tell you it beats the hell out of all the overpriced blasé uptight so called 5 star accommodations I've stayed in over the years. There is no such thing as second choice when I am in Nanaimo, it's always Rocky Point B&B. Period
