“" AN INTERESTING STAY"”

When we saw the place online, we loved the location, price and the availability of a continental breakfast. We had originally booked for 2 nights but after an incident we switched to one. They were nice enough to let us have breakfast the day we arrived it was fantastic !! Our room was on the second floor so it was difficult to transport our luggage without an elevator. When we walked into the room, we immedeatly noticed a scent, but we put it off because we thought it was coming from outside. It was a clean but an older type of room. We unpacked and got settled. Our day was spent outside, sightseeing and shopping. When we got back, we started watching tv and during that, a mouse scurried across the room. As we were ( dressed in our pyjamas) went to the office to complain, the VERY HELPFUL LADY at the front desk LISA, told us that she had never heard of such a thing during the period of time she has been working there. She immedeatly switched us to a similar room but on the 3rd floor. We told her that we would now only be staying for 1 night. SHe was very helpful by voluntarily making us a list of hotels with similar room and price in the area. Overall, we were pleased with the service because of how helpful Lisa was but were unpleased by the room.

Room Tip: Not on the 2nd floor.

“DISAPPOINTED”

Purchased a silent auction room from this property at an event. Unfortunately, it had expired by a short period of time. I support a lot of charity and business auctions and occasionally have misplaced the paper or not been able to meet the time frame, and they have always accommodated, which is greatly appreciated and builds loyalty to secure the longer term relationship with the customer. Alas, this property didn't. It's under new management who won't honour the past, therefore, sadly, they just lost a customer who travels to this community often. In tough economic times it is a curious decision for the 'short-term' given the hotel is likely not full this time of year. Unfortunate new management decision, but another property in town will be the benefactor as I will no longer do business with this property and new owner.

The lady who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. The room suited our needs. There is no hold placed on your credit card; they just need the number.

“Average but ok for price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

I stayed here while traveling alone for work. When I pulled up, I got out my computer to see if I could rebook somewhere else but I couldn't. It doesn't look very good. There were some shady characters hanging around outside which made opt to stay in and eat crackers for dinner. When I drove out the next day, I saw a few more newer hotels. Might have slept a little better if I had stayed at one of those.

“Thankyou”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

I took my kids to Nanaimo for a day trip, timing wasnt on my side. I decided we would stay for the night. I checked on this hotel b4 and decided to go there. Lisa at the front desk was very helpful and cheerful. I checked the beds for bedbugs or other and nothing came up. It was great, kids enjoyed the room as well as the park a block away. Biggest playground I ever saw. It was quiet, clean and people were friendly. Minus the bees out front but it was worth the stay. The breakfast was continental and great. Lots to choose from. Bagels, toast, eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, milk, tea, coffee. BUFFET!!! I will definately stay again. THANKYOU LISA!!!

Room Tip: ask for back, less light in the room for night time.
