This is one of my favorite Hotels and principally because of the folks who drive it.
Always alert to the welcome and continuous to the goodbye. Problems are considered an opportunity to demonstrate their caring nature. Cannot say enough about this fine hotel and especially the front desk Team.

We always stay at Coast Hotels when we travel and the Coast Bastion always meets our expectations and more. We usually have a premium king room but this past week, for our anniversary, decided to treat ourselves to the Jacuzzi suite on the 14th floor. Absolutely amazing a large jacuzzi with a view over the harbour and in the distance the mouintains of the mainland, fluffy towels, chocolates and an ice bucket waiting for our champagne. Robes laid out and the bed turned down. We own a 5 star B & B on the west coast and so are hard to please when we travel, The Coast Bastion never disappoints, it is always perfect.

This is very nice and very clean hotel with very good customer service except for the cranky old guy at the reception. Apparently this place it was updated recently as the furniture, TV set and washroom all look very new and spotless and working properly. My wife, however, did not like as much the "modern" feel of our room. She caled it cold.
We got a nice view of the marina via our windows so we recomen one of these if you stay at the hotel.
Our company paid for the room so we can't compare the prices. So please do you homework before you book.

Nicely renovated rooms with modern decor, are clean and well appointed. Really friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed the restaurant/ lounge adjoining the lobby. Located right in the centre of charming old downtown part of Nanaimo. Totally worth booking here for a few dollars more than the budget places we stayed at before in Nanaimo which were awful.
