Fantastic welcome from one of the owners, very friendly and helpful. Great communication as we were making the reservation. Comfortable and clean one bedroom suite, with good facilities. Very close to the ferry terminal and handy for downtown Nanaimo. Very highly recommended.

Well it started with the booking, the folks were so helpful they answered many questions and when we checked in it was more of the same. We chatted at length( I hope to see them again soon). We selected the suite with the fireplace. The kitchen had everything we needed and everything worked great. One Rainy evening we tried out the fireplace, my wife cuddled up and read in front of it for hours.
The Bed was excellent better sleep than I have at home! The staff dropped in one day and asked if there was anything else we needed. They dropped off extra coffee filters when they saw we brought back a large container of coffee.
Very good stay!

We were looking for a motel and being on a 1 night transfer from Victoria to Ucluelet we would have expected something a little shabby and anonymous. Instead, Buccaneer Inn has been a very pleasant surprise, with its spotless clean apartment (living room plus kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom) full of naval blue personal details. Dave is a terrific host, kind and always helpful: we followed his advice to have dinner at Asteras Greek Taverna and we were not disappointed!

We were met by owner, Dave, who we felt at ease with immediately as he told some funny stories (love the Canadian sense of humour!!!) who then asked us how long we were staying for. As we were leaving before the next booking was checking in, he put us in the Deluxe Channelview Fireplace Suite for the same price as the 1 bedroom kitchen suite which was great of him as the room was gorgeous!!!!!!!! Nothing like sitting in front of a real fire reading a book, listening to gulls! Bliss!

Immaculate rooms, fully equipped kitchen (where I turned the oven on the wrong setting when cooking texas toast hence setting off the smoke alarm - sorry!!!!!!), gorgeous view of the Harbour with seals & other wildlife.

I LOVED this place, I would love to live in Nanaimo - it was heavenly.
