We stayed at the Manteo Resort while our home was being repaired from Dec 6 2011 to Jan 6 2012. The view was unbeatable from our rooms . The rooms were a good size and we had a suite with two bathrooms which was nice. The kitchen could be equipped better. No cereal bowls just little dessert dishes and only 6 of each item and not enough cooking items like a roaster. Our biggest complaint was the housekeeping. Were there a week and they still had not vaccumed. Finally asked to have it done and had to do so several times. Also dusting was none existent . Carpet needed cleaning and the decor updated. Also would be nice to have a chair in the laundry room while waiting for your laundry.

My husband and I stayed at the Manteo Resort for the weekend of May 27 - 29th, 2011 (yes, a little late in reviewing!) in a lovely, spacious, well designed and equipped one bedroom mountain view suite. To say I was thrilled when we entered our room would be an understatement. We were in Kelowna to attend a wedding, taking place at the Summerhill Winery; I wanted top quality and that is what I got and more! Lots of parking, pleasant staff, beautiful setting and a fabulous suite with a king bed, big TV, compact and efficient kitchen, and walkthrough bathroom. We were right next door to the El Dorado Hotel where most of the wedding guests and wedding party were staying - I AM SO HAPPY WE WERE AT THE MANTEO RESORT. We were unable to make use of the lovely pool and waterfront location because of the wedding but there is always next time! For dinner we headed across the street to the Cabana Grill and had a great time - dinner and an important hockey game on the big screen. The next day/evening was wedding related and the following morning we had to head home! I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Manteo and highly recommend it. I did spend a lot time going through reviews on Trip Advisor - which is how I selected Manteo Resort. I hope we have to return to Kelowna - and soon!

Stayed at the Manteo Resort twice this year, both times with a lake view suite. The suites are large for a hotel type room and fully furnished. The bedroom came with a king size bed and had a walk thru to the bathroom, very nice. The view is spectacular for Kelowna. Your room is a few feet from the lake. The hotel doesn't have a great beach but does have a nice pool. If you do want a beach experience you can go to one of the best beaches in Kelowna just a short walk away. The hotel has a very nice dining/bar option on site, with many other dining options close by.

We stayed at the Manteo about 3 years ago, and were impressed, so decided to return for a 2 night stay in October this year. This time we opted for a one-bedroom suite. The location of the room was fine - overlooking a tiny creek and with a peekaboo of the lake. But no complaint as we did not choose a lakeview. Housekeeping for the room was good. However, the room lacked warmth. Upon walking in, it seemed the room was bare. The furniture was uninspiring, Reminded us of furniture in budget hotels. The kitchen lacked certain essential kitchen implements, but we managed with a bit of creativity. The toaster has seen better days. On the first evening we were entertained by intermittent buzzing sounds. Upon query, the front desk informed us that it had something to do with the heating system.
It appears from the manner of the front desk person, that Manteo has a policy that guests arriving before 4 p.m. were to be turned away . We arrived at 3:30 p.m. and were told in no uncertain terms that we could not check in till 4p.m. If the hotel was full on the night of October 25, I can accept that the housekeepimg staff will not have a room ready at 3:30 p.m. Check out time is 11:00 a.m. and I am sure that a few guests would have left before then. The outdoor pools were already closed for the season, but we had expected it. The steam room was available, but needs a good scrub. The big plus is the location of the resort. It is right on the lake, and close to a couple of upscale wineries and the farmer's market. On an evening walk on the boardwalk we were treated to a beautiful sunset . Hope that our one-bedroom suite is diarized for an upgrade by the owners.
