We stayed here for a week for our family reunion of approx. 65 people of all ages from 6 months to 90 years old. It's close to Shuswap Lake, but not on the edge. It was a five minute walk to the beach. It's in Sorrento, BC and 20 mins from Salmon Arm, but you have to go to Salmon Arm for any major shopping so it's not close, but not all that inconvenient to go once or twice during the week. It's a small campground with cabins and well maintined grounds.
The housekeeping left something to be desired, but one of their employees had just left and they were short staffed so I hope that wasn't the norm. It has free showers and BBQ's outside each cabin. No laundry facilities here or in Sorrento, you have to go to Chase or Salmon Arm. The RV Hookups are only 15 amp so no air conditioning and don't run too many things at once or you'll pop the breaker. No sewage hookups either, but sani dumps on either end of town.
The management was a little disorganized at check-in, but with 65 people arriving over two days what do you expect. I got charged for a full campsite, when I was just an add-on in an RV site. I didn't comment at the time as there were other add-ons to sites that weren't charged for full campsites and I didn't want that to affect them.
There were lots of things for small kids, as long as they quiet down by 10pm. We aren't normally a loud group and are very friendly but the kids running around past 10pm disturbed the managers who told us to put them in their beds by 10pm. You can tell us to quiet down, but not how to parent.
Overall the reunion was a blast, but there were a few nit-picky things that had us talking. I wouldn't recommend this place for a large group, unless you could make a deal and rent the whole place out. Definatly not for partiers either.
