“Fraudulent Managers”

Hi,

My boyfriend and I were on vacation and at the last moment we decided to stay at this hotel in Kamloops. We didn't feel comfortable staying there, but had already given our credit card, so decided against our better judgement to stay. We looked in our room, and there was a fist mark in the bathroom door from a previous tennant.

Unfortunately we didn't notify them that it was there. We checked out in the morning by giving our key to the desk clerk. 2 days later I checked my credit card, and they had placed extra charges on my account. Through contacting my credit card company, I learned that an employee at the hotel has continuously tried to put charges on my credit card for the damage that was already there.

I filed a police report with the RCMP, but unfortunately I am probably going to be forced to pay $350 for a night in a crappy hotel.

DO NOT STAY THERE EVER!!!!!!

“Not very nice”

If you really want to pay a very low price, this one is an option for you. We stayed here one night, because we were attracted by the low price, but we did wanted to move on after that night. Not that is was very terrible but I didn't like the smell in the bathroom en the beds wasn't comfortable.

It's okay for a budget traveller, but I wouldn't recommend long stays there...

“Roadside stopover”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2005

You don't expect much from a Rodeway Inn by the highway in Kamloops: it's functional as a place to sleep for the night, and that's about it. Well, this place does the job. It's clean and if you get a room back from the traffic, it's quiet enough. There's the bonus of a swimming pool and spa at the back. No breakfast on the premises, but there are the usual chains within an easy walk or drive. Arrive late, leave early and you'll be fine.

“Skyline Motor Inn: A DUMP!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2004

We were just passing through Kamloops on the way to Vancouver and thought we would save a few bucks by using a Motel instead of a Hotel. When we pulled up to the Skyline Motor Inn it looked newly renovated from the outside, and it was busy. Took that as a good sign & pulled in.

The room was disgusting. I am pretty sure a previous tennant had a cat in the room, but didn't bother with a litterbox. It smelled heavily of dirty litterbox! Carpet massively stained, towels frayed and very worn. Thank god I brought my own so I didn't have to touch their towels, ewwwww. I think the bed itself actually broke my ribs. Worst sleep I've ever had. The shower was too "gunky" for me to brave it anyway.

Funniest part: The "in room coffee maker" is actually a plug in kettle for boiling water. Beside it is 2 styrofoam cups with a package of sanka instant coffee inside. I'm not sure how this qualifies as an in-room coffee maker, I guess it is a "do-it-yourself" type.

I admit, I was trying to save a few bucks, but I know for the same price there are motels in Kamloops that are not this scummy. A basic, simple and clean room was all I was looking for.........but I sure didn't find it here. I'll never go back.

Mostly it was the smell though. The smell is still with me to this day. Maybe someday I can forget.....until then I must save more innocents, and tell you all to just spend the extra $40 and get a nice HOTEL. Or, ask to see the room before you give anyone any money.
