This is a small country hotel ideal for those who want to "get away from it all". It's located about a 25 minute drive from downtown Kamloops and 15 minutes from any gas stations, fast food, etc. It's located on a guest ranch in a unique desert mountain setting.
The property is a throwback to a quieter era. A popular guest activity is sitting outside the room on the porch relaxing. The rooms and bathrooms are not modern by any standard but are adequately kept up. The property has a restaurant and small pub serving very good food that is $3 - $5 more expensive than might be found in an equivalent stand alone eatery but is worth it considering the high quality and the distance required to travel to another restaurant/pub. The ceasar salad was homemade and among the very best I have ever eaten. It was so good, I added jumbo shrimp to the salad and had it for dinner two nights in a row.
The hotel was booked by someone else in our office for a 4-night group business trip. I would have rather not have been so isolated, but I made the best of it and can honestly say I enjoyed myself. By the way, the staff is excellent.
Finally, I would consider the property ideal for the over 55 crowd and/or for a quiet romantic getaway for any age.
