As hotels go, this was quite good, but Kamloops has nothing whatsoever going for it - it's just a rather dreary town. For a one-night stop though, the Ramada Inn was okay.

It's located a little way from the strip, 0.5 to 1 km from the malls. We were welcomed with a drink on arrival and our bags were whisked away to the room.

Outside, the hotel - like the town - looked a bit drab, but the rooms had been refurbished and really very pleasant. Our two Queen-sized beds were very soft. The bedside clock didn't work but, fortunately, we didn't need to use it anyway. The lighting was poor - why do hotels assume that their guests don't want to read in their rooms?! The new air-conditioning unit was efficient and not noticeably noisy. There was also a window that opened for when we wanted real air - excellent! There was also free, fast Internet access in the room. A four-cip coffee machine, with ample supplies, was also provided.

The bathroom, although not huge, was spacious and very clean - with bath, shower, wc and handbasin. Toiletries, from San Francisco Soap Co., were soap, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner in "sugared citrus".

In summary, if you have to stay in Kamloops, the Ramada Inn is probably as good a choice as any.

We stayed at the Ramada for one night on our way from Jasper to Vancouver. The hotel was easy to find and is located on a strip of various hotels, motels viewing over the city of Kamloops (centre of town a ten minute drive). Shops and fast food are on a short distance walk. The exterior is somewhat dated, but inside the rooms are up-to-date: clean, spacious, comfortable. We had a friendly welcome and the service and food was good.

We stayed at the Ramada in Kamloops now the 7th time. And we never got disappointed. We tried once the knights inn because it was 20$ cheaper. After two minutes we figured we can't stay there. We canceled the room and went down to the Ramada and got what we asked for.
A Nice, clean, standard room, away from all noises for a reasonable rate. We don't take any chances anymore.
The Frontdesk is professional and responds quickly to special needs.
There is no breakfast included in the price, but the restaurant in the Hotel is awesome with a great view over the city. They have a little indoor pool which works just great for the kids. Of course you got more fancier Hotels in Kamloops, but it depends what you are willing to pay for the stay. All in all, a valuable not to expensive, clean Hotel for a family stay over.

We picked Kamloops as more of a refuelling stop from our car touring journey from Vancouver to Calgary through the Rockies. We drove about 180km from Whistler to break up our next journey 480km to Jasper.

The Hotel was quite small and is modern.The room for two was large enough with all the requirements for us..bath, fridge, iron,ironing board,TV, hairdryer.

The staff on reception were friendly and quite helpful. There is a restaurant here but it was closed. We therefore hasd to venture out for something to eat at night.

We did have breakfast in the Hotel which was reasonable.

Kamloops itself is best descibed as busy highways dotted with hotels and fast food eateries spread out.There seemed to be no centre for shopping.However we did find a Safeway within half a mile.

Not much else to say about Kamloops really, it is a good refuelling stop enroute to Jasper and it served its purpose adequately
