If you're lookin for a big, modern corporate hotel this is not for you - Lac Le Jeune resort is a hotel with a heart, and exceeded our expectations.
On arrival you're greeted by a table of stuffed bears around a table having a drink in the bar which sets the tone of the place - it's clear all of the staff love the resort, and were friendly, helpful and more than happy to tell us the best spots to catch wildlife around the lakes.
Our room was particularly big, and as with the other rooms had a balcony view across one of the lakes. The room was simple but comfortable and sparsely furnished (a lovely giant cuddly beaver on the bed!), and a little more attention could have been paid to the room but was perfectly reasonable
The Buffet dinner was delicious - hats off to the chef.
The only real problem was that our room was unbeliveably stuffy, and only 2 tiny windows could be opened which didn't help! A fan was provided, but after 10 minutes of testing every socket, we realised it would only work when plugged into the bathroom plug whilst the light was left on! Needless to say I didn't get a great nights sleep, which was a blow to the otherwise great stay.
Located a 20 minute drive from Kamloops, the lodge is secluded, but a true experience of Canada and teaming with wildlife! I wish we'd stayed more than one night!
