“chaming room but!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2011

Stayed in room 207 ,Charming room with nice layout.Carpet had not been vacuumed and toilet leaked all night and had severe rust stains in the bowl.It took two trips to the front desk to get the remote to work.Bed was excellent and room was very quiet considering its location on Hwy#1 and the rail tracks.Lady on front desk in the morning certainly does not know how to smile. This place has the potential to be very nice with some attention to detail and a lesson in P.R. Apart from the carpet room was clean and amenities very good.

“Why can't hotel chains be consistent?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

As we were on a spontaneous trip for the weekend, I hadn't looked or booked any hotel rooms prior to leaving. After having great success at the Econo lodge in Hinton, we went out of our way to look for one in Kamloops.

Unfortunately the room in Kamloops could not hold a torch to the night prior. It was dirty, old, and felt a little unsafe. I will give the hotel clerk a better rating than the clerk in Hinton, but that's all this Econo lodge receives. It was cheap enough I suppose at $80.00 (plus taxes), and I can't really expect a lot for the price.

What dissapoints me is the seeming lack of consistency. That goes for any hotel chain. Pick a standard and stick to it please!! We thought we found a great new hotel, that was cheap and satisfying. Now I'm not sure we will stay at one again (except maybe the Hinton location). I don't like crap shoots.

Free wireless was a plus though.

“Crappiest hotel we've ever stayed in”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2009

This is just an awful place to stay. It's dirty - we had to rinse the short and curlies out of the tub ourselves - and we weren't even sure they'd changed the sheets in between guests. The pool is almost 5 metres deep in the deep end which is ridulous and the shallow end - well my 9 year old was having a hard time keeping her head above water. Stay away...stay far far away!

“terrible place, never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2009

We booked this place online before we left for our trip to Vancouver and thought it would be a good deal in an ok place. When we got there, the room had no heat. Yes, it was colder than usual for December, but it was just as cold inside, no matter what we did with the heat. after anhour of freezing in the cold, I went to the front desk and their solution was to give us more blankets!!! I asked if they at least had an electric heater we could use and they didn't. So I asked for another room. We moved to the room next door only to find that the bathroom was flooded!!. Probably explains why their was no heat in the first room! So I returned to the front desk and demanded my money back and got a cheaper and better room at the motel next door. Also, they claim they have a hot tub and pool at the econo, but it was closed and looked like both were empty and unusable. Save yourself the headache and frustration: stay away from this place.
