“A nice hotel for a great price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2010

This hotel is no longer a travelodge. It is now called the City Center Inn. We called a few days before our arrival to let them know we will be arriving very late(1am). Upon arriving I was told that our reservation had been cancelled. The nice lady at the desk fixed it all for us and gave us a larger room than we had booked. The room itself was very nice. Recently updated and very clean. Dont waste your time on the free breakfast. It was pathetic to be honest. The location is awesome and the price is great. Would stay again.

“Convenient & Great Jacuzzi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2010

I was on the road for about 8 hours riding the motorbike. So when the billboard said pool and jacuzzi I pulled in.Book in was quick and the price was $93.00 per night in the month of June. The room had two queen size beds, modern bathroom with a great air conditioner that just cranked out the cool air !The TV was a little dated but worked fine. The pool was small but all I needed to cool down and do a few laps then into the jacuzzi (very nice) very clean and well maintained. They have a restraunt of there own,But 3 blocks down the street was a Casino and a wide selection of food . The one drawback was the Motel is located on the main drag.Easy to get to and back on the highway but there was some road noise . All and all good bang for the buck ! ( staff was very friendly )

“Nothing wrong with our stay - better than the previous reviews”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2009

We stayed overnight here as part of our Rocky Mountaineer package. When we received our reservation information, I read the reviews and I was very concerned. Really though, there was nothing wrong with our stay. I don't think Rocky Mountaineer would put their passengers in bad accommodations. On the other hand, I don't know if we received the best rooms because we were with RM. There were a few surprises. We had free, working, wireless internet access. I've stayed in many nicer places where they either didn't have wireless or it wasn't free or it didn't work. Upon arrival, we had bottles of water and cookies waiting for us in the room. Some places want to charge you $2-3 for a bottle of water. (Again, those could have been provided for RM guests only). With all the guests arriving at the same time from the train, they were able to check us all in very quickly and set up wake up call requests. The room was clean, and we had no complaints. It's an average motel in the middle of town. It was on one of the busier streets, but we didn't feel unsafe. We walked the 3 or 4 blocks to the downtown area for dinner. It's not a place that we would normally stay, but everything worked out fine.

“noise noise noise noise worst hotel ever. A park bench would be better.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2009

This hotel is not a place for sleep. The traffic on the main drag isn't the problem. We found other people that were staying at the hotel in and around the pool teenagers out of controll with no respect for others. Yelling and screeming, doors slaming , girls crying. We had to check out after the second day as we had enough. We checked into another hotel and what do you know zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz peace and quiet. So for those of you with young kids good luck with getting them to sleep.

“DISGUSTING ROOM...Weird reception..YUCK!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2008

Ewwwwww!!!!!
I have stayed in hotels all over the world, from hostels to 5 star luxury....and this was one of the worst EVER!!! I was greeted by a very odd fellow at reception who gave me a room across the property.....hotel is divided by a major road, and also is on the busiest road through Kamloops across from main hospital. It is a very sketchy area of town, very noisy with lots of low lifes. After walking past some scary people, I got to my room....and almost died when I walked in. The room was BEYOND filthy......the carpets were covered in gigantic round stains and was so dirty I kept my shoes on the entire time. Quickly pulled off the disgusting bedspread on the bed and found that the underlying blanket was covered in cigarette burns. Pulled this blanket back and found 3 hairs in the sheets!!!!!! ICK! Room was smoky and musty smelling, and felt very unsafe.....the fact that the bathroom window was broken and I was alone and on the bottom floor did not help!!
Why didn't I leave you ask??? Well I had called all over the place trying to find a hotel in Kamloops and all were booked up except this one....and due to an emergency I HAD to stay the night and arrived at dark. Room cost me nearly $130 bucks!!

Was never told about a continental breakfast???

Parking is unmonitored and unsafe.

I keep trying to give Travelodge's another try....and am always soooooo disappointed. This was the last time.

  • Liked — uh....nothing?
  • Disliked — Hmmm....I guess the dirt, the grime, the hairs, the filth, the noise...............
