We stayed overnight here as part of our Rocky Mountaineer package. When we received our reservation information, I read the reviews and I was very concerned. Really though, there was nothing wrong with our stay. I don't think Rocky Mountaineer would put their passengers in bad accommodations. On the other hand, I don't know if we received the best rooms because we were with RM. There were a few surprises. We had free, working, wireless internet access. I've stayed in many nicer places where they either didn't have wireless or it wasn't free or it didn't work. Upon arrival, we had bottles of water and cookies waiting for us in the room. Some places want to charge you $2-3 for a bottle of water. (Again, those could have been provided for RM guests only). With all the guests arriving at the same time from the train, they were able to check us all in very quickly and set up wake up call requests. The room was clean, and we had no complaints. It's an average motel in the middle of town. It was on one of the busier streets, but we didn't feel unsafe. We walked the 3 or 4 blocks to the downtown area for dinner. It's not a place that we would normally stay, but everything worked out fine.
