We were placed at the Thompson Hotel for one night while on a Rockies Mountaineer Goldleaf train tour. The hotel was quite drab and ordinary but we were only there to sleep before returning to the train in early morning.
Our room had two double beds which took up most of the space but as I've already said we were only there to sleep. Unfortunately that became a problem because of the constant noise. We could hear various forms of activity in the big yard at the back of the hotel outside our window. There was also noise of air conditioning units from outside.
But the worst noise of all came from air conditioning units which seemed to be situated above the ceiling, and they must have also impacted on other rooms at the same and of the corridor as our room. The air conditioning noise from within the corridor was terrible, but when the door was closed it was reduced to loud and a constant hum that continued all night. We were happy to return to the train in the early morning, tired, but glad not to be staying another night in such a noisy room.
