I stayed at the Hotel 540 for one night after a business meeting. I picked the hotel because its website promised recent renovations and I had hoped for a newer hotel room. Unfortunately that didn’t turn out to be the case. The bathroom door’s paint was flaking, the faucet in the shower was missing a piece…

Plus I should have visited Tripadvisor before booking. I had the same noise issues as some other reviewers. At night my hallway resembled a frat house. Yelling and partying way until after midnight. Maybe you want to look into sound proofing your room doors since hallway noise seems to be an issue.

And when I finally fell asleep someone in the hotel started drilling and hammering. Do you really have to do that in the mornings?

Also, since I had never been in Kamloops I was looking for one of those typical binders on restaurants, room service, hotel amenities and activities in Kamloops. But alas, the bible and the Yellow Pages were my one sources.

On the upside: The reception staff was just outstanding. On both days I had extremely helpful young ladies assisting me.

Hotel 540 was just what we needed. It was clean, modern, and in a great location. After driving all day, we were happy to be able to walk to restaurants and a local supermarket. I would definitely stay again!!

From the minute we walked into the hotel I was quite impressed. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with professionalism and friendliness from both David and Gwen. The hotel has been renovated in a way that is both modern yet warm feeling. Cleanliness is obviously made a huge priority. As we travel a lot cleanliness is one of the thing that is noticed FIRST. We had both room service and drinks in the lounge. Both again were great. The location is perfect as we spent a lot of time walking around the downtown core which has some great shopping. We have booked another team group block of rooms as well as a personal family visit after Christmas. Meeting with Jocelyn Bennet made that a very easy task. Team meal options, great group rates and amazing attention to detail. David Deol who is also in management came and greeted us personally. We really felt that our business was recognized and very much appreciated. So I thought i would take the time to recognize and recommend this hotel for personal, group and business visits.

Everyone, from the front desk staff to the servers and kitchen staff were very happy and friendly. In my opinion, this says a lot about a business; if the staff are happy, it usually means that they work for a good employer. Our room was very nice, large comfortable bed, great shower. The underground parking is a bonus. We stayed there on our way to Vancouver and like it so much, we went back there on our way back home to Edmonton. I will most definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone, Very reasonably priced for such a centrally located place. Outstanding breakfast as well!! Well done :)
