“Was not impressed with service, the room, or the smell in our hotel room.”

We went for a small getaway after our wedding. We needed a break. Figured that the spa and dinner credit would be nice as well - what we got with our voucher when we purchased it through an online deal.
Our room smelled but we thought it was just us so I didn't say anything until the following day. At that time, I was given a key to move to another room.
The hotel does not honor their deals - that was my biggest annoyance with them.  The dinner place was closed for dinner orders as they were renovating. They only provided room service for breakfast. However the voucher for food said we needed to spend $40 in order to get the $20 credit! I don't know many people who can have that big of a breakfast or have alcohol that early (how else were us two going to get out bill to $40!).  But the hotel nor the restaurant was able to assist with this. The person at the front desk gave me a blank stare when I said it was not stated on the voucher that we needed to spend double in order to get the credit and it's not our problem the restaurant is renovating.  He also ignored my inquiry about the that spa credit. The person who had booked my room had said the spa credit was for both people. This man told me that it wasn't for both guests.

Anyhow, I was disappointed by this so we didn't bother with the spa. I will probably be very cautious to buy an accommodation voucher online again and would recommend this hotel to no one.

The manager has stated in response to other reviews that while the guests are there the hotel will try their hardest to deal with the situations. I did, however, bring up these issues to the front desk not once but twice. So it wasn't as if we hadn't tried to resolve this. The service is poor. I have stayed in similar hotels and the service always exceeds everything else and makes the stay more comfortable even if the hotel is old. This hotel does not meet even my minimum expectations.

“Not bad for low rates”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

The reason why I picked this hotel was because I got a coupon on "Social Shopper". The deal was $119 for two night stay. Before I got this coupon, I read some reviews online. I knew not to expect too much, especially if I am only paying $60 per night.

Surprising, when I got there, I didn't think it was too bad. It was a spacious room with two queen beds. Everything I had requested for was there - lake side view and extra pillows. As for cleanliness, it is not the best. I was looking in the bathroom and saw pieces of hair in the bathtub before even using it.

The staff there were very friendly and helpful. We asked for directions and recommendations for restaurants and they were always more than willing to help.

Though I have to say, their recreation room was small and had very little to offer, so we didn't use their facilities at all.
At night, it can get noisy as the walls are thin.
Not to mention that the hallways smell like Weed!

Overall, I think it wasn't too bad for $60 a night. Though the the price you pay is just for the room really. If the rate were any higher, I don't think this would be my first pick for hotel.
I do recommend this if you want an inexpensive trip to Harrison.

“A Great Christmas in Harrison”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Our family spent 3 nights over Christmas at the Ramada Hotel. We had a great time at the hotel, our room was clean, we used the hot tub once and it was nice, and we had a couple of meals at the hotel restaurant. The staff, both in the restaurant and at the hotel are extremely nice. They were very responsive to our requests (we asked for extra towels and extra coffee a few times).

The reviews on this site seem bizarre to me considering how good our stay was. We look forward to our next stay.

“Flop House would be better”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

This hotel was the worst hotel I have ever been at, the fact that it is now under the Ramada name, please don't buy Ramada shares. The room floors were so bad I did not want to take off my shoes. The hot tub had a dirt ring all around it, as if it was not cleaned in many months. As my wife and I were hoping for a quick get away we were so disappointed that we are also going to write a letter to Ramada's Head Office. In short I would not let my dog stay at this hotel. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN

Room Tip: Don't go

“not good place to stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We used a deal coupon to stay for two nights, and we also bought one night at regular rate for my parents so we can extend our Christmas party. The services are really bad, after we check in after 3pm, my parents' room is still not clean and ready yet. We talk to them, and wait 1 hour and 45 to get the room done, however, there still has hairs in the bath room floor, and I don't think they change the fitted sheet of the bed. We ask for robe so we can go to the hot tub, but didn't get any till next day afternoon after we follow up at least three times. The room is not clean, I even found chips under the sheet in my bed, the carpets is not clean either, so we have to wear our shoes inside. That is the worst place I ever stay.
