We have been staying at the Ivy Cottage for more than three years. Joyce makes us feel so at home that we consider it our home away from home. The cottage is peaceful, relaxing and truly a gift.

After an enjoyable walk to the delightful town of Fort Langley we return to the abundance of books and charm found at the cottage. For those times we feel more adventurous we take the ferry across the Fraser River and drive to Golden Ears Provincial Park for hikes, picnics and swimming.

Breakfast is always a delightful surprise at which we always seem to over indulge. Joyce's hospitality tops it all allowing us to relax knowing we are in good hands.

Ivy Cottage B&B is everything a cottage should be: airy, delightful, relaxing and comfortable. I have been several times, and liked both the huge suite upstairs where you can bring up the breakfast tray to eat whenever it suits you, or the cottage room downstairs where you can remember every great summer holiday in any country you have visited.

Host Joyce is an amazing cook and has a great eye for colour and detail in the furnishings as well as in the food she presents. The food is outstanding, and I wish I’d taken more photos than just this fruit starter. I just couldn’t wait to dig into the main course, and forgot to pull out the camera for it. Next time, I’m staying much longer. Joyce says she’s up to the challenge of a new breakfast each time for even longer stays.

I was delighted with Fort Langley shops and restaurants, too. The historic fort is worth a visit as well. Fort Langley is code for “really close to Vancouver without the sirens and noise.” It is only 45 minutes to shopping in Vancouver, and even less to Richmond and Coquitlam shopping centres. It’s a great location for a great B&B.

We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts and found this quaint little place to be one of the best. Our hostess, Joyce, was a hoot. We had so much fun with her. The room was white and beautiful. The breeze blew through the pass through windows at night. Breakfast in the morning was a real treat. This woman can cook!!! The location is only one half hour from Vancouver and tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood. The house, the yard, the hostess, what more can one ask for.
