I had previously stayed at the Sandman in Williams Lake and had a reallyy bad experience. I wrote a review for that stay. I contacted the head office after my last stay and told them about my experience. They were very sorry, saying they were trying to clean the place up and had gotten a new general manager. They sent me a voucher for a free night stay. I just used it last week and it was a night and day experience. The room was spotless. The front desk clerk was very friendly. They are in the process of doing some major reno's. I believe this hotel will be a top notch place to stay. Next time I am traveling through Williams Lake I wont hesitate to stay here again. Even after my first nightmare experience with them. Thumbs up ftp the new general manager!!

One of the few places in town that supposedly has a pool. Watch out, the pool has been closed for service. Also, two of two ice machines were not producing ice. After extended discussions, the helpful front desk person got us some ice from Denny's.

It was a bit of a dive, although it was not priced like one.

I recently stayed at the Sandman in Williams Lake for one night. When we arrived the front desk clerk was very friendly and said she was giving us a free upgrade to the "Suites" side. I thought "Wow! This is great!". When we got to the room I was so disgusted from what I saw. The room was absolutely filthy. Big burn holes in the carpet, huge scuff marks all over the walls. Dirty, dirty, dirty. I didn't even want to sit on the couch. It had patio doors that I don't think were ever cleaned. There were pine needles all over the floor. The Mirrors were filthy and the top of the fridge had crumbs and dust all over it. This room had definitely seen it's fair share of rowdy party's. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

We stopped twice at the Sandman Hotel on our way to, and from Bella Coola. The rooms were clean and contrary to other reviewers the staff on the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Having Dennys attached is useful if you have a young family with you and the Safeways across the road allowed us to stock up before hitting the road. For one or two nights I'd say the hotel was fine but for longer I feel you'd probably be better off looking elsewhere.
