Lac la Hache is the longest town in the Cariboo in central British Columbia, just over half way between Vancouver and Prince George. The motel sits on a fairly large lake that is not inundated with condos and hotels. The Lac la Hache Motel is at the south end of the town and sits just above the lake. Each unit has a door both at the front from where you enter from the parking lot and at the back from where you can enjoy a sitting area that overlooks the lake. I thoroughly enjoy sitting there watching the abundant wild life, always a thrill.
The hotel is one of the cleanest places in which I have ever stayed. Each room has either one or two double beds, a private bathroom with tons of hot water, a table and chairs by the back window (overlooking the lake) and cable TV. There is a micro wave and a coffee maker in the room and the owners will go out of their way to make you comfortable. This motel is also one of the least expensive places along this highway and comes highly recommended.
Only 100 meters from the motel is the Eidelweiss Restaurant that serves excellent food in a pleasant atmosphere. If the weather is good, they have a deck overlooking the lake from where you can enjoy your meal.
