Most will know this property as the Capri Hotel which has now been assimilated into the Sheraton Hotel family. The renovations to this property have certainly added to its appeal. From the hotel lobby to the guest rooms - the improvements are fantastic! Beds were comfortable and the location is excellent for accessing everything that Red Deer and area have to offer. We stayed as a part of a conference, so can say that the food and conference venue were also top notch. It would seem that with the continued renovations and the cold snap that existed during our stay caused some havoc with the hotel's heating system. Some of our colleagues needed to request space heaters for their rooms just to make sleeping bearable. The hallways were also extremely cool. Here is hoping that this issue is short lived and that the completed renovations will take care of heating problems in all parts of the hotel. Parking is free.

The old Capri has a whole new look - and worth a look. Redecorated rooms, great beds and linens, common area upgrades - made for a much improved experience. Meeting rooms were good - private and quiet where we were. Staff needs training though: Check-in lineups on a Saturday afternoon, rooms not ready, people we met changing for parties in friends rooms and 'hoping' they would have a place to sleep after a Christmas party. Fortunately, didn't affect me but still no way to do business. Invested a lot in physical facilities - maybe need to invest in their staff too?
