My spouse and I reserved the least expensive room with two queen beds. The room we got was very clean but very small. The beds were comfortable but as we were staying for three nights, we asked for a king room. We were offered a room on the second floor for an extra $2 per night. This room was much better. It had one king size bed, a table with two chairs, and enough room to move about comfortably. The room had a coffee maker - Nabob coffee, which was nice, and a fridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was adequate with good coffee. We would likely stay here again.

This hotel was adequate for overnight, but it should not be rated a 4th in Red Deer. The relatively new linoleum was installed so poorly there were 1" gaps between the wall and floor that was filled with unpleasant floor sweepings. The corners were dirty and dusty. The shelf on to the coat rack was bare dirty wood. The sink did not drain. The tap water was disgusting. The fridge was not cold. The TV was old. The beds were okay. The sheets were clean, the pillows were adequate. The staff was good. This is an average motel grade hotel. No more, no less.

I was caught between a rock and a hard place at 9 pm and needed a place to load up personal effects from an investment property that we had sold. The new owner had enforced a new move date on us and we had to get our property out of there. The Howard Johnson staff were more than accommodating, especially as I had my pet with me at the time. The room was clean, no smoking smell and a complimentary breakfast as well. Kudos friends, we shall return and recommend you to our staff and friends.

Front Desk staff very helpful and friendly. Room located in the "back" of the property, excellent parking. First impression of room was pleasant 1 queen bed with sofa (smoking). Room did NOT smell. Upon retiring, realized a 5" space between mattress and headboard- just enough to make it impossible to prop pillow up to watch tv and to lose your pillow during the night. Piece of rug along bottom of wall falling OFF!!
Day 2 - NO coffee or room ammenities were replaced, upon pulling back the bedding saw "somewhat fresh" stain on underside of bedspread..YUCK!! (dark brown in color). I know outer bedding is not washed daily..BUT it should be checked DAILY and laundered when necessary!!!
I would NOT stay at this Hotel again for the price I paid $71.00 USD (booked through orbitz) Newer Hotels with similar rates nearby!!
