If you are travelling across Alberta on Hwy #1 and need a place to sleep, you cant do any better than Motel 6 in Medicine Hat. I have stayed at some pretty awful Motel 6 hotels in the past and am surprised at myself for recommending one, but this one is new, clean, well run and although the rooms are small they come with a flat screen TV, Fridge and microwave. WiFi is good and free. You dont get a breakfast but they will provide coffee and some fruit. Tim Hortons is down the street. Note their internet rate is cheaper than Expedia by about $10.

We thought that for the price, this was an excellent hotel. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had an excellent sleep. We would definitely stay here again.

I was here for 2 nights and decided to try a more budget minded hotel. In comes Motel 6. I had a good stay here, although what i needed most was good internet, and I found myself going down to the lobby just so I could get some kind of reception. Room was absolutly clean and the building is kept up very well. Good bathroom, minimal toiletries- bring your own. Hotel seems to be run very efficient. Awesome staff working that would bend over backwords for you and have a good knowledge of the community. Timmies is just accross the highway! Parking was a bit of a challange, lots of trucks taking up multiple parking stalls. I would still come back here again.

This is actually a hotel, which is located next to it's partner hotel, Days Inn. We booked through their online booking, and it was less than Expedia. The desk clerk, Rhea, was outstanding and the room was squeaky clean. The bed was new and very firm, so depends on if you like it that way. There were home-made cookies in the cookie jar at the front desk, and coffee in the lobby. All in all good basic accommodation for one night.
