My husband, daughter and I booked a last minute night at the Best Western Plus in Medicine Hat on Christmas Day. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a two level loft room with two very comfortable queen size beds (one upstairs and one down) and two full bathrooms.

The room was very clean and well maintained. The fridge was a bit noisy but, since we didn't need it, we just unplugged it. The beds were very comfortable. They were a bit softer than I'm used to but not so soft that they were hard to sleep on. There was a blowdryer in the lower floor washroom, and a microwave, fridge and coffee maker on the lower floor.

Considering that the hotel is right off the highway, it was very quiet. There was very little traffic noise even though our bank of rooms faced the highway and the service station.

The complementary breakfast had something for everyone. We were quite happy with the variety. There were hot options with scrambled eggs, fresh made waffles and a variety of breads for toasting. There were also yogurts, fruit, cereal, and muffins for the cold breakfast people.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We didn't try the pool and hot tub so I can't really comment but they looked like they were well maintained.

Rooms are small and hallways are endless. Very noisy Equipment old.

When checking in we were told that our originally room we were assigned to had an issue so we graciously accepted an upgraded room...a family room! It was great, more then enough room for my family of five, my husband and I had a separate bedroom from our children. We were very comfortable.

The pool and hot tub on the south side of the hotel was looking a bit run down but still clean.

The breakfast attended was slightly annoying it was not necessary for her to tell everyone she is busy cleaning and preparing for an upcoming audit... Guest do not need to know what is going on behind the scenes.

Housekeepers were friendly greeting us in the hallway and respectful of our privacy.

we stayed here for one night. It was right off the road and surprisingly quiet. We had dinner in front of the hotel and it was very good. The breakfast was standard.
