“Exceeded expectations”

We highly recommend this beautiful apartment ! It is spacious and included everything we needed during our stay. It offers privacy, is on a quiet street and is convenient to walk downtown to restaurants, grocery store and shops. Parking is free and right in front of the home. This is a wonderful value and much more room than what would be found at a hotel in Jasper.

“Excellent private suite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

It's high time that Belles Mountain Chalet was reviewed again! We've visited Jasper many times and this is the best accomodation we've stayed at. This suite is excellent. There are two good-sized bedrooms(queen-sized beds), a large full bathroom, sitting room with wood-burning fireplace, and a large very well-equipped kitchen (full-size refrigerator, stove with oven, dishwasher, lots of cutlery, cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, pots & pans). There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate, Ovaltine, and a small selection of cooking spices provided. The suite is the lower level of the home(down about 5 or 6 steps), but it has large windows which admit a lot of light. One highlight is the family dog, Merlin, who occasionally "visits" at the kitchen window. He's a very quiet, friendly, older dog. The family live upstairs but the house is well-built and you seldom hear them. One of the town's grocery stores is a short two block walk. The location is very quiet, away from the main tourist section of town (a 5-10 minute walk). Wendy, the owner, has left a large selection of brochures about the local sites available in the sitting room and she is very helpful with suggestions (also unobtrusive). The suite is decorated with many quilted wall-hangings that Wendy has crafted. She is an award-winning artist. Parking is free and we had no difficulty finding spots directly in front of the house.

“Good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2008

This is a ground floor of a Swiss type chalet where the owners live upstairs. We had our own private entrance and during our stay only encountered the owner on arrival. We found the sitting and kitchen area which was spacious and well equipped. In fact one of the best equipped that we experienced in Canada other than it having no laundry facilities. Bedrooms not too large but adquate with 4' 6' wide beds. The cost for two nights was CAD$250 cash which is very good value for Jasper. Excellent location being in walking distance of the town centre. would certainly stay there again

“Our favorite place to stay in the Rockies”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2008

Belle's Mountain Chalet was truly our favorite accommodation in the Rockies. This 2-bedroom apartment is located in the half-basement of a mountain-style chalet, a couple of streets up from Jasper's main road. The windows are large enough for the rooms to be bright, and we never felt that we were in a "basement". We were delighted with the decor. The kitchen is large and well-equiped. The living room is cozy, with a gorgeous fireplace. The two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the apartment, very private and perfect for two couples traveling together. The house is located in a residential area, a 5 to 10-minute walk to the town's stores.

“Self-catering in Jasper”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2007

This was a great place to base your stay in Jasper, a pleasant quite street that was just a short walk away from the shops and restaurants.
The 2 bedroom suite is on the ground floor of the owners delightful Mountain Chalet. It had a large well equiped kitchen as well as a very cosy and welcoming lounge with beautiful fireplace. The two double bedrooms were roomy and very comfortable.
The owners were very friendly and willing to give helpful advice. There dog was also amazing - always carrying a shoe in his mouth! It was quite comical to go into the kitchen and find him looking in the window at you!
We would definately recommend this place and would like to return soon!
