“Excellent location and host but lack of privacy let our stay down”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2011

Tobi is a great host, very helpful! We were recommended a walk at Opal Hills and the views were amazing, well worth the time! The B&B is in an excellent location, being only a short walk from the main street and breakfast was fab especially the take-away muffins! The only thing which let our stay down was the lack of privacy as we stayed in the Loft suite which as others have mentioned is the mezzanine level and as such, has no door to shut off from the rest of the house.

“Excellent accommodation, location & host. Let down by lack of privacy.”

We travelled to Jasper on our honeymoon and booked the Loft Room at the Glasshouse after reading many excellent reviews. Having stayed there, we can see why people would love it - the location is perfect (a short walk to the main street), the accommodation was clean & spacious, and Tobi was welcoming & helpful. What let the Glasshouse down for us was the lack of privacy. The Loft Room is actually the Mezzanine floor, and is located at the top of the stairs off the main entrance to the house. There is no private entrance or doorway to the floor, so anybody looking up the stairs (or walking up!) could quite easily see or hear you. The bath was located next to the bed on the open-plan floor, so we didn't feel comfortable enough to use it. We felt that anything we said or any noise we made would be heard by the rest of the house.

However, this is not a reflection on Tobi at all - she could not have done more to make us feel at ease, it was simply the lack of walls and doors that put us off. (Please see picture). If you are a single traveller or with friends, this might be just what you are looking for, but as a romantic getaway we would not recommend the Loft Suite.

“Warm, friendly B & B that won't break the bank.”

The Glass House is a very short walk to restaurants, shops, the information center and the train depot. We stayed in the Garden room which was small, but comfortable and came equipped with a fridge, coffe maker and tea kettle. Jill was especially welcoming and she and Tobi prepare excellent baked goods for a filling continental breakfast (they even suppy a brown bag for the extras)! They were knowlegable about birds, wildlife, nature hikes and scenic drives and happy to share with us. A great value...we'd love to stay there again.

“What a find!”

We were delighted to find The Glass House in Jasper. It's a short walk to the main drag where you can find great restaurants and quaint shops. Our hostesses were helpful and offered excellent accommodations particularly considering the very reasonable price. We enjoyed all the fresh baked morning offerings which came complete with a "take away" bag for those morning hikes!

Spotlessly clean and very charming, we highly recommend the Glass House.

“nice and affordable place to stay”

5 minute walk from downtown. The Fentons are very kind and helpful people. Food was good. We had the Solarium room, which is fairly small (but less expensive than the other two rooms in the house). It was our first B&B experience and I would recommend this place to anyone.
