“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The Sawridge Inn is an older hotel that has been well maintained over the years. It's probably the 2nd most expensive hotel in Jasper but you do get value for your money. The hotel itself is clean, welcoming, and the front desk staff are very pleasant. The parking at night is very limited in an outdoor parking lot and sometimes requires parking on the unlit street, which is not as safe if you're storing your skis in/on your vehicle. WiFi and parking are free. The beds are clean and comfortable. If possible, as for a room that faces outside as our room overlooked the restaurant which makes it noisier as well as lacking privacy as the rooms on the other side of the atrium looks directly at us too. The hotel is the first hotel on the road when you enter the town of Jasper from the east side. You can walk to town but it is the furthest of all the hotels in town (except the Jasper Park Lodge which is outside of the townsite).

The pool is indoor but they were renovating the jacuzzi tub next to the pool. The hot-tub which is in a separate room is very small.
The only complaint we had was upon check-in, my wife went to the restaurant to get a cup of tea to bring back to the room because I had a sore throat and cough. She paid $6 for 2 tea bags and a pot of hot water to go. When we entered the room, there is a kettle and tea bags supplied. It's nice and unexpected that the hotel provides this (plus a coffee maker) but it would have been nicer if the restaurant staff had told us this as well as it was clear we were taking it to the room and we charged the cost to the room account. During checkout, we mentioned this to the clerk but all she did was acknowledge that the restaurant should've known better.

Room Tip: Choose a room not overlooking the atrium where the restaurant and pools are.

“If you want a horrible nights sleep”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Stayed at the Sawridge only 1 night... thank god!

Not only did we get the absolute worst room in the entire hotel it was ridiculously hot and dry in the room. We faced the Atrium and felt like zoo animals on display. Everyone going up the stairs walking towards the room and could hear all the people going for snacks and ice alllll night long. The room was out dated and there is no way to control the temperature. The Breakfast Buffet offered inthe morning is over priced and the the price is not clearly listed. Sorry Sawridge.. I'll never return to this hotel.

Room Tip: If you do stay here, avoid the Atrium rooms!

It is disappointing to hear about the poor experience you had during your stay. All rooms are equipped with adjustable heating/air conditioning units as well as a vent that provides fresh air to the room. They are also equipped with both sheer and blackout curtains for privacy. It is unfortunate other guests were making noise throughout the night. If reported, our night security would address with the culprits. We certainly want to keep a peaceful environment. If a guest reports they are not satisfied with their room, we make every effort to move them to one that is satisfactory. Our breakfast buffet is comparably priced to other restaurants in Jasper and we offer a more extensive selection. I am very sorry you did not enjoy your stay. It is not typical of our guest experience.

“Great place, great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I recently spent 5 days @ the beautiful Sawridge in Jasper. I would recommend it as the best place to stay in Jasper. My room was spacious, beautiful view, clean, the linens were that of a 5 star. Many of the room have recently been upgraded. The staff were very friendly, efficient, courteous, helpful, full of local knowledge and willing to go the extra mile. The food in both restaurants and lounge was just delicious and good value for your dollar. A great place for family, couples or singles. I will be revisiting soon!

“Great accommodation, good rates, and nice pool!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We stayed here a few times on numerous trips to Jasper.

We love this hotel as well as their pool and sauna. The only downfall of the pool is that it is open, although it is indoors. The noise from people talking and children screaming and playing can be heard from the restaurant/lobby area.

Their breakfast is simple, but delicious! We enjoyed it very much.

The Sawridge is located farther away from the center of the town. Most people complain about its location, but in the end effect, it is worth the longer walk to be able to stay in a clean and cozy hotel like this.

We will definitely return, and prefer the Sawridge over a number of other properties in Jasper.

“Good Value for a Ski Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Stayed Jan 28/29 2012 for a ski trip as we have done many times in the past. The rooms are very clean and large enough. Staff is very polite as well. Parking is the biggest disappointment because there never seems to be enough. Hours for the pool are (or at least used to be) restricted because it is so close to the dining room.
