“nice place, a lot of charm...but the nightclub vibrated the room”

Stayed here as part of a Contiki tour. This hotel was exactly the type of place you want to stay at in a place like Jasper. It has charm, it really feels like you are in another time with the decor and colour scheme in the room. I really liked the atmosphere here and the rooms were enormous so you can really spread out here.
The only downside to the stay, which considering Contiki is a party tour generally you'd think i would be all for the nightclub scene. However, some days you are just exhausted and since this was month 3 of a 3 month trip, i was beginning to feel the long term exhaustion kick in sometimes. We stayed out until about midnight at the nightclub because there was no way we'd go to sleep anytime before that, with the nightclub being basically under our rooms and the room was vibrating from the nightclub below. If you are on the 3rd level maybe it wouldnt be felt as much but since our rooms were the 2nd floor, we didnt have another room to buffer it. I would say the nightclub would be a friday and saturday, but also on the eve of public holidays as was the case when we were there. The thumping only went until about 2am and eventually we fell asleep, but the 2nd night we stayed there was much more comfortable as there was no nightclub.
It is a really nice place, well worth staying at, but if you are a light sleeper like me, vibration from below can be annoying. Or make sure you stay during the week and you shouldn't have any problems with it at all.

“We love to eat breakfast here and good for the lounge too”

We prefer to have breakfasts here. (We have stayed uncountable times in Jasper) Breakfasts are great and very filling. This trip we decided to go in the O'sheas lounge in the mid afternoon and have some ribs and beer while watching some football on the big screen. We sat in the big sofas by the fireplace. Very cozy and a very interesting atmosphere. Considering the history of this hotel and building,...we will keep coming back.

Never rented a room here yet...but that may be yet to come...
LOL

“Character for cheap!”

From the moment we walked in our room I felt I was stepping back in time. It reminded me of the luxurious rooms in titanic. The best part is it's cheaper than any of the main stream hotels n it looks amazing, the decor gives the place a little something extra!

“Almost perfect.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

I booked a room with a shared bathroom and I was surprised to find that there was only one ladies toilet and shower on the floor I stayed on. I'm fine with sharing but a few more would be great. Apart from that the hotel was great. Top location, free wifi, tasteful decor. Maybe a frdige in the room would be handy.

“Good Place to Crash”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

We decided to stay one more night in Jasper and while we were having a beer in the louge of this hotel, we asked about room rates. We took the deal with the king sized bed room and shared bathroom. Sharing a bathroom did not bother us, and it's not like the public can go use it, you need your key to get in. The room was clean, and washrooms were clean as well. All we needed was a place to crash as we were going out that night to the bars and such. If you are looking for a place to just sleep and sharing a bathroom is not a concern, I definitely would suggest this hotel. I didn't have any problems with the noise from other people using the washrooms, just try to ask for a room that is not right beside them and you should be fine. On a budget and need a place to rest, this is it!
