“Hot Tubs were actually HOT!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We've stayed at various hotels in Jasper over the years, and we tend to stick to the mid-range ones in price. I would have to say that the Lobstick is definitely better than similar priced hotels such as The Marmot Lodge or The Tonquin. And finally... An outdoor hot tub that was hot!! Just what we were looking for after a day on the slopes.

“Noisy, dingy, barely adequate service.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We stayed here as part of a month long trip from Calgary to Vancouver. Having come from the hotels in Banff earlier in the day it was something of a shock to be walking through the tight dingy corridors of the lobstick on the way to our room. After the cool and not so knowledgeable reception staff experience I was starting to dread staying here.

I noticed that someone else has described the feeling of being in an army barracks...I'm in the forces and that's actually a fairly accurate description as I commented the same to my wife along the way to our room. That's basic training barracks by the way.

Room tidy and typical of much of the accommodation in these parts of Canada. Twin bedded with standard fittings throughout. The spectacular views of the tree roots and car tyres really added to the experience also. For reference our room was in the corridor 160's.

Sadly we had an awful nights sleep with banging and crashing and people talking loudly, it's not that the hotel had noisy guests as such it's just that the sounds travel loudly throughout. Toilets flushing, pipes clanging and people walking about were more examples of what kept us awake. Not sure what else to say regarding this problem only that it's difficult to complain about 'normal' noises...soundproofing is a massive problem here and that's all that can be said.

If you value a decent nights sleep I'd think of going elsewhere

“No complaints”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Hotel was pretty much what you would expect foer the 2.5-3 star range, thankfully the windows opened for fresh air, I generally enjoy somewhere with a balcony, but the 3 hot tubs outside were very nice, and for how much we were actually in our room it was perfect. We stayed 3 nights and didn't reallize there was a second restaurant on the main floor which had a breakfast buffet until the last day, it would have been nice to be better informed at check in of all of the ammenities. My boyfriend does not generally complain about comfortability but he did wake up with a sore back, the beds are not the most comfortable. Also the service in the lounge on the fourth floor wasn't great, and the ceaser didn't really taste like a ceaser, we had planned on eating dinher there, but instead we took a cab into town for dinner walked back afterwards, it was about a 10 minute walk, not bad at all!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor otherwise you may get stuck in a basement suite or one of the buildi...

“Hottub heaven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

rooms spacious but decor a little drab and only one coffee sachet left in the room. The staff were very helpful especially at check in when there was a mix up with our booking reference.

I booked this for the hottubs and they were quiet in the mornings / ok in the aternoon but busy when the skiers got back after 5- 6 pm. Very enjoyable. It is a short walk or cab ride into town. I am not very fit/able so we walked in /back 3 times and took a cab 7 dollars once.

Would stay again for the hottub experience

“Slightly overpriced but decent”

We were there in September 2011 and had booked two adjoining suites. We drove from Kamloops and was quite tired by the time we reached. Check-in was easy but we had to carry our own luggage very strangely which was ok since we travelled light. The rooms very quite okay and clean, spacious. The view from the restaurant was quite beautiful, esp with the chill in the weather. Location of the hotel too is quite good, away from the main area. We were out of the hotel for most of the time, on the whole we enjoyed our stay there.
