“Great place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is located in the small rocky mountain town of Jasper in Alberta, Canada. The Lodge is located a few minutes from the main town and is surrounded by natural forests and the beauty of the rocky mountains.

The reception area is found at the front of the park and the exterior gives the impression of a log cabin however inside the reception is furnished with victorian style furniture, and the a large dining area. The main food hall is located in a separate room towards the back, and features a grand piano that is played during certain events.
With the help of the polite and helpful staff it is easy to find the correct row of cabins that contains your room. Each row of cabins features nearby parking which offers good convenience. The rooms themselves come fully furnished, with various sized beds ranging from single to double. Bathrooms are complete with bath/shower and sink with toiletries. The rooms also contain a large TV and WiFi access that is payed for when checking out.

Dining in the hotel is good, food is served all day and the menu's offer a good selection to suit everyone, breakfast buffet is also provided. There is also a large variety in the main town of Jasper as well as bars and other shopping areas.
A small amount of stores are found in the hotel offering souvenirs however the main stores are found downtown.

Overall the Lodge is one of the best places to stay in the area, and with wildlife such as deer, moose and bears surrounding the lodge, this is a must stay for wildlife watchers.

“The place to be at christmas!”

Where do I begin?! The staff at JPL made us feel like stars from the time we got there to the time we left...very friendly, pay attention to your needs, helpful, everything hotel staff should be!
When we walked into our cabin room, we were pleasantly surprised to see we got an upgrade, not a little upgrade either. Originally we were going to pay $399 for 3 nights, the upgraded room they gave us was over $500 per night. It was great! The 2 bed with a seperate area with a couch, window table with 2 chairs. Ontop of that, we had the view of the beautiful lake.
Beds are COMFY! Bathroom had lot of room to put your bathroom items. Bathtub was deep, great for the end of the night!
The main great hall was decorated very festive, everything looked elegant, classy! The restaurant in the great hall had DELICIOUS food, the coffee was AMAZING, addicting taste to it! Service was wonderful!
The christmas activities....I don't know how anybody could complain about them...it was a PACKED schedule. Some activites we had to leave for the next day, couldn't get everything in, in 1 day. We all were so tired at night, slept very well!
Our daughter, the JPL really made her christmas special!! One of the times we came back to our room, there was a teddy bear on the couch with a note on it, not talking about a small teddybear either which how could that not put a smile on a little girls face?! Another time we came back, there was a christmas ornamant saying Jasper Park Lodge on it. The little touches really went a long way with us!!! The ornament was broken on the side so on checkout we asked if it can be replaced......the guy brought us back TWO....SO NICE!! The ice skating was quite the experience, my daughters 1st time on skates (great skating area with beautiful surrounding, mountains all around)!
The activites, can't list them all but the bedtime stories, cookie decorating, bonfire, caroling, movie nights, concert, etc etc etc was so enjoyable! The cost is high per night but with the activites and free hot chocolate, treats & the freebies, it was really WORTH IT! With the pk price, my daughter also got a present from Santa ($15 itunes card) and got to pick a present upon check in.
I recommend JPL for any family during christmas...really cater to the kids..young and old lol! We want to make this a tradition now, go every year (whether it's Jasper or Banff).
The store in the main building (sells bedding, clothes, ornaments etc) have GREAT pillows. We bought 2 and although a little pricey, the best pillows we have ever slept on! Didn't buy the duvet but when we go back, plan too!
JPL is VERY close to Jasper, although the walk may be a little long, the drive is very short..under 4 minutes. It was nice to stay outside of Jasper yet close to have some meals in Jasper as JPL restaurants were out of our price range, too expensive. The meals we did try were great though...not your tradition plate, higher quality taste!
There is no way I could rate under 5 stars! Look forward to going back!! Thank you JPL & all the staff for making our christmas one of the best ones yet!

“Perfect property for any occasion”

Just back from a girls' weekend away in Jasper. Have stayed here several times before, and they never fail to disappoint. We stayed in a lovely Lakefront Suite, which is their most spacious suite (without moving into the specialty cabins). One thing I love about these suites, which are newer than some of the buildings which are original to the property, is that the bathroom is a very good size (bathrooms are quite tiny in their original rooms). Beautiful view from our room, but you really can't go wrong with the view anywhere here – even if you're not in a "view" room, you are still surrounded by the awe-inspiring splendor of the majestic mountains with the beautiful lake that lies before you. It's a lovely place to visit any time of year, and it allows you to be as active or laid-back as you prefer. We whiled away time by the great fire in the common area in the lodge, reading and playing games (which they provide). Love the rustic, but still quality, experience that a stay at JPL provides. More expensive than staying in town, but worth every penny in my opinion for all the extra amenities afforded at such a pristine little piece of paradise.

Room Tip: Actual view rooms are described as such in the title when you're booking them, but they whole ar...

“Relax & Get back to Nature”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

After visiting this property several times I figured it was about time to write a review!

I've stayed everywhere from a room in the main lodge, to a lakefront bungalow, to a Fairmont King. The rooms all had one thing in common- they are decorated in a very minimalist rustic way. If you're looking for wifi & mini-bars this is not the place for you. That being said, the beds are incredibly comfortable and I slept like a baby, plus there aren't many rooms where you can see wildlife pass by from your bed, anything from Canadian Geese, to deer, to elk.

From check-in to check-out, the staff are always excellent, and the new spa area is really gorgeous. The eucalyptus steam room was a wonderful addition as is the waiting lounge space. Try the Rocky Mountain Body Wrap- Amazing! The heated outdoor pool is great, no matter the season. Always refreshing.

What can I say- another wonderful stay. Can't wait for next time!

“Beautiful Property. Can't Wait to Return - Great for Parents”

We took a weekend trip with our daughter to Jasper Park Lodge in November to celebrate Christmas in November and it was wonderful, Food was great and celebrations were exciting. Stayed in the cabins section and had a wonderful experience exploring Jasper and getting some down-time from the weekend.
Liked the sitting area in the cabins - and even took advantage of the babysitting services offered by the hotel. At $60 for a few hours, it was reasonable, and we got to have a date night.
Hotel was impeccably clean, room service was delicious and cabins were on lovely walking trails that were just perfect for the mild weather.

Room Tip: Choose the cabins, you don't be disappointed.
