“Living it up - new camping style”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

I stayed in the Jasper House Bungalows for 2 nights. This is the perfect spot to see wildlife, feel like your camping but not really roughing it!! Your away from downtown & you can really enjoy the solitude here. Its like a mini version of a log cabin. Its clean, the staff is friendly and it is the perfect spot to see elk- I did!! It was awesome. The tv could use a few more stations, but all in all-it was great!

“Log Cabins amongst the Pines by the Athabasca river.”

The title sort of summarises this property, which is out of town about 25 minutes from Jasper. We were in a cabin with one bedroom, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and also a sleeping alcove with another double bed. It was cosy, clean and quite comfortable. The cabins, although within sight of one another, were far enough apart to provide privacy and quietness in the large compound which has picnic tables for guests use. There is a restaurant (limited hours) and gift shop attached to the front office, with coin operated laundry facilities in another building. Some of the cabins face the Athabasca river on whose bank the property is situated and where one can have an interesting morning/evening walk, perhaps spotting a deer or too.

“Delightful- can't wait to return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

Stayed at Jasper House Bungalows for 4 nights as part of a tour of the Canadian Rockies.

Jasper House Bungalows is around 3km out of town heading towards the Icefields Parkway-there is however plenty of parking in Jasper town so there are no problems in travelling into town on evenings for meals. The bungalows do have their own restaurant, but we preferred to travel into town each night.

Managed to get one of the units overlooking the river which was a real bonus- although a number of the other cabins are well situated for other reasons.

The bungalows are compact but well equipped- including a hairdryer which we didn't expect. there was some noise from next door (TV) but nothing to cause great concern.

Jasper House Bungalows also have their own resident wildlife in the form of their visiting elk- which in the rutting season causes tremendous interest. Most evenings elk (female and bull) would travel through JHB grounds to their rutting grounds- which meant a stop for a meal on the lawns in the central area of the park. There also appears to be a resident coyote who appeared a couple of times.

JHB is well situated and provides good quality accomodation reasonably priced. It is a property that we would look to return to the next time we tour the Canadian Rockies on holiday.

Highly recommended.

“Getaway from the kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

A bit pricey, but very quaint and relaxing. Nice, cozy place to get away from the kids in the mountains. Rooms could us a bit upgrading to include better Internet and cable tv. Would like to see more towels in the room and a bigger fridge and maybe another tv in the bedroom. No fireplace in our room, but it was plenty warm enough. All in all, we recommend it!
