When we arrived r bed was broken and my husband had to rip the mattress off and fix it the headboard was filthy and it was so hot in the room that we had to turn on the ac and open the window and it was minus 15 outside and I still woke up at 1am sweating and to top it off people were getting stuck in the elevator needless to say I will not be going back

As noted in other reviews, the Lobby is renovated, as well as a new pool and fitness room, these photo's can be seen online.

For the rooms, the rug was newer and the bed was very comfortable. The furnishings in the room were odd, with antique style wardrobre that had no hangers in it. The hangers were outside next to the front door a bar across, no doors or nothing. The bathrooms were atrocious, extremley old from the seventies, chipped cracked clamshell sinks, taps that made vibrations and noises if you didn't turn them enough, smelly drains, and water build up in sink, mold in bathroom. I had the quickest showers ever, was very icky having to spend anytime in the bathroom.

Service- internet wasn't working, front desk said not sure what to do as no one knows about computers. 'Do not disturb' sign was missing from room, front desk said can not replace as only one person at front desk most of the night. Housekeeping put the 'do not disturb sign' on the door the next day, however they forgot to clean the room first so had no room cleaning service for my stay.

Drakes restaurant - cafeteria style, dirty chairs, mediocre food.

Would never stay there again.

I arrived at the hotel very late in the evening, one front desk clerk ignored me as she counted money, the second was chatting with her friend on the phone about her Saturday night out. I waited while the one counting money told me the clerk would help me when she was finished with her call. My business, which I own was hosting a conference at the hotel so I thought I might get a nice room since I was paying for a meeting room and meals for 15 people. No such luck, I got sent to the end of the hall with all my luggage and meeting supplies, no help was offered .....room was dark, heat was not working (blowing cold air) and bathroom very outdated with a big stain above my head when I showered, towels were hard as rocks. Day 2 - TV would not change channels. Front desk staff tried to help and I had to wait for the Night Manager who was the only nice person I met outside of the hospitality manager. I asked the front desk for room service information and she said there was a menu in my room, there was not and said she would send me one, it never came. Finally one hour later I called the restaurant and asked for a meal suggestion and they said they would send me a menu, it never came, two hours trying to get a meal in my room while I worked. Bottom line, $2000.00 invested by my comapny, never to return or ever host another event at this hotel.

Great location in Grande Prairie, easy to get to, decent parking. Very comfortable beds with duvet comforters. Recently remodeled in lobby area of hotel, rooms are older but clean and cared for. The buffet breakfast offered in the morning until 9am had lots of selection for all dietary needs.
