We had occasion to stay at the Maple Meadows B&B for 2 nights. It was one of the best B&B's I have ever stayed in! The setting is lovely (5 acres) and there is lots of parking. Helene & Barry are very welcoming hosts and we were immediately at ease when Helene met us at the door.
The guest rooms are very well-appointed, with fireplaces & TV's, and immaculate en suite bathrooms. The common area is comfortable and has a small 'wet bar' to make coffee or tea; the guest refrigerator is stocked with pop and juice.
Breakfast was served in the guest dining room on a beautifully set table. The food was served hot, fresh and delicious! The homemade Belgian waffles were such a treat!
We had to depart at 7:00AM when we checked out, so we said we would not have a breakfast. Barry & Helene immediately insisted that they would serve us breakfast at any time we chose. When we protested that would be too much inconvenience to ask of them and declined, Helene packed us a take out breakfast for the road. (Thanks, Helene, we really appreciated it! )
The home is beautiful, obviously built for B&B and well set up for that purpose. There is wireless internet for guests with lap tops - complimentary, of course.
I can't think of anything they could do to make it a better experience for guests. I know Grande Prairie may not be a tourist destination (although there are spectacular Nothern Lights there...) I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone having occasion to stay in that area!
The cost was $110.00/night (including taxes!)for our room - we felt it was such a bargain and would have happily paid more for the treatment and service we received!
