Stayed here for a hockey tournament. The host team booked it for us and would not have been my choice at all. The check in went fine and the young gentleman was very accomadating and helpful. When we went out to get our bags and came back in we were greeted with a gentleman smoking something - not cigarrettes right outside the lobby doors. We were put on the 2nd floor which is a smoking floor - I was unaware that there were such things as smoking hotels anymore therefore didn't know I was to ask for a non smoking floor. Again, it was not only cigarette smoke we were smelling in the halls. The room we had booked for was a double queen and ended up with a double bed with a pull out loveseat. NOT acceptable when you have 2 athletes that need to get a good rest. I went down to talk with the young man, he was more than accomodating and we ended up on the 3rd floor which is non smoking. The room was clean but quite small. Difficult to have a suitcase and 2 bags of equipment. The beds were doubles not queens and the bedding and decor were very old. There was a microwave that was filthy and a fridge in the room. The walls are quite thin and you can hear many "noises" from the rooms beside and below you. There are new flat screen tv's in the room BUT BE WARNED PARENTS, there is an adult movie channel that is completely accesible to children if they are using the remote. There are no warnings or anything on the tv and could easily turn to it just like any other channel. Also friends of ours in a different room were watching tv and their channels started to change from the crossover from another room, which could inadvertantly change to these adult channels without your control. I found this very disturbing therefore, we didn't use the tv at all. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful although because the hotel was so busy with hockey tournaments, they did run out of towels and we couldn't shower the last day there. Over all this is a hotel meant for rig workers at best. and there were a lot of them there. Breakfast was good, offering french toast and pancakes but it wasn't enough to make up for the adult enviroment of this hotel. Seemed shady when we got there and felt that way until we left.
