My wife and I stayed at the Clearwater Suites Hotel for 15 months in 2009 to 2010. One reason we selected this hotel was that they have kitchettes and individual washer/dryers in each room, a huge bonus for those long term stays! I found the staff friendly and ready to help at all times. The location is super, right downtown so we did not have to go far to eat out or shop for groceries. We fully recommend this hotel for your stays in Ft.. Mac, whether it be for one night or long term.

I stayed at the Clearwater while in Fort McMurray for a business trip. The location is perfect, and the hotel was great for the 4 days I was there. In suite laundry, full kitchen and large living area created a comfortable space while I was there. Clean and spacious. Even a large desk for me to work at! The rooms are very quite, considering the highway is right there, and I had a great sleep each night.
Staff members were exceptionally friendly and did their best to accommodate our early check in request. Utilized the work out facilities and restaurant, both suited my needs quite well.
When required to stay in Fort McMurray, this will always be my #1 choice.

PROS: The hotel location is good, walking distance to Montana's, Tim Horton's, Superstore, Wendy's and the mall. There is a full kitchen available in each room that helps a lot in case you need to prep something; in suite laundry is also a plus. Good free breakfast every morning. Free wireless.

CONS: Check in time is 3PM and there is no exception to let you in EVEN if the room is ready. The room service is the worst I've ever seen, half of things is done, the other half is just left behind, they do not clean the room properly, do not check garbage bins daily (kitchen), and I could not tell the difference before/after room service on the washroom, so do not look too close otherwise you will pack your stuffs and will run away easily. It is charged $7/day for heated parking. Depending on the room heater and air conditioner does not work properly either and it can be an issue, given the low temps in Ft McMurray

The hotel clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are extremely helpful and always smiling. They even had a complimentary barbeque for all the guests. (management cooking and serving).
Good,friendly service is a rare treat, especially in Fort Mc Murray.
