We stayed for the "Great Escape" package for our anniversary.
It was was a very enjoyable evening. A lovely 5 course French meal, and a decent wine menu. Wine and cheese was waiting for us back in the room.
We had a great conversation with the owner during Dinner, who was very pleasant. I would have to say he was the best part of the experience. He made us feel very welcome. He mentioned that over half of his customers are local. This is a bit of a shame, since it would be fantastic accomodations for visitors to the city.
My only criticism is the appearance of the hotel. There are a few areas that could use repair (ie, plaster ceiling), but it actually manages to add charm. Just don't expect a 5 star Fairmont hotel, and you won't be dissapointed.
