I spent two nights at the hotel and was surprised at how poorly kept it was. I was under the impression that Travelodge was a descent 3 star hotel, but this location was barely a two star accommodation. The place wasn't well maintained, and carpets in the hallway were stained. The room had two comfortable queen sized beds, but everything in the room (except for the bathroom) looked quite old. Walls needed a fresh coat of paint and the tv was one of the older CRT tvs. The room was small, but the hotel offered free internet, which was nice.

If you need to stay somewhere in West Edmonton, this would be your average motel to stay at.

Pros - Swimming pool and water slide, plenty of parking, Free WiFi, helpful staff, as soon as you get to your room they call to see if all is well, fridge and microwave in room. Smittys restaurant located right in the premise. Very easy to find and good location.

Cons- This motel is dated. They have tried to make it look good but its still worn. Only one elevator. The double beds are small and shorter than most doubles i have seen. The shower pressure is weak. The wall are thinner than most.

Good value for money.

Pros - front staff, rooms were fairly clean, pool and hot tub area were clean and good temperature.

Cons - walls and doors are thin, 2am door knockers (partiers) were addressed quickly by staff.

Overall would stay again. I am thinking perhaps some are confusing this hotel with the other Travelodge (south) in Edmonton. Wife and I thought this hotel was superior to the south location.

I stayed here in 2006 and while the price is a little less impressive and the hallways a little more worn the service and the pool are both as great as ever. Within moments of walking in to your room you'll get a call from the front desk making sure everything is okay. My only complaint in 2006 was no free WiFi - this has since been corrected. The pool stays open fairly late and has a great slide. A Pizza Hut, Best Buy, GameStop, and WalMart within minutes walking distance are all fantastic. You could also walk to and from West Edmonton Mall if you're in your 20s as I was in 2006. Located on a primary road this hotel is very easy to find particularly if you're coming from the west. If you can get a good deal I highly recommend staying here.
