This is one of Edmonton's very few southeast business hotels, near several car dealerships and numerous parts and repair shops. The nearest similar hotel is 2 miles further from downtown. Fortunately, there are a handful of good nearby restaurants.
Its non-tourist location would be best for guests whose job or personal life involves southeast Edmonton. Its hotel directory lists the distances to numerous petroleum industry suppliers.
It is beside and near several fast roads, providing good access to much of southeast Edmonton, and across the river to the pro sports venues. Family attractions are miles away, but Showgirls and Casino Edmonton are within walking distance.
On most weekday nights, room rates are relatively pricey vs. similar hotels in more popular locations. However, the hotel chain's SPG.com affinity program offers some great multi-night weekend deals. I planned to book an extremely competitive no-change rate a few days before my trip. However, a flexible deal announced the week before might have been the best deal in town, especially if I stayed a third night.
My large entry level room was very quiet overnight. It had a queen and sofa bed, unencrypted WiFi, a flat screen TV and a single cup coffee maker, but no fridge. The lobby has a business centre, free coffee and free newspapers. The open parking lot has free parking.
A vehicle is a must. Adjacent transit is limited to peak hours and feeder routes. Most taxi trips would be long.
