“The Best of Edmonton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Downtown Edmonton is a wasteland of tired hotels built in the 80's. The Union Bank Inn is a break from this. This is a small boutique hotel with character. The rooms are well decorated and up to date - although a little smaller than many chain properties - and the bathrooms are new.
The restaurant serves a great breakfast included in the price. This is a full breakfast, not a buffet, so it can take a little long, and they don't start serving until 7am. Restaurants in downtown Edmonton are either at the high end of the price range for dinner, or the low end - and you get what you pay for (or a little less than what you thought you paid for) - this restaurant is at the high end of the price range.
The only knock against this property is the gym - one treadmill, one eliptical in a tiny room - if the gym is important to you, go elsewhere.

“One of a kind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times...beautiful unique hotel- each room is different, and has two different "wings", one with the original rooms, and one with more modern rooms. All have fireplaces, but make sure to look at the website- you can request your room. I personally love the heritage wing... feels not at all like any other hotel room.
Breakfasts are free- just downstairs in Madison's. AMAZING food- no buffet here!
Great location, only downside is limited parking right onsite, but they do have vouchers for the parking lot in between it and the Telus building.
Amazing, friendly service, and incredibly clean. I wouldn't go anywhere else in Edmonton for my stay-cation.

Room Tip: Check out the website! Its all about the personality of the room!

“The only place I stay in Edmonton”

I've been here many times, though never had the same room twice. Each is uniquely decorated. It's a great boutique hotel right downtown on Jasper Avenue.

The beds are the most comfortable of any hotel I've been in.

A nice touch is the glass of wine and cheese and cracker plate delivered to the room each afternoon.

I also very much like the restaurant on the main floor. Breakfast is included in the room cost and you order off the excellent breakfast menu.

“Luxury,Service, Impecable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

This hotel is top notch. Every detail from taking our baggage to our room for us, to quiet professionalism in the restaurant was wonderful. I loved how quiet it was, not a lot of noice in the restaurant and lobby. No idle chit chat by the servers and hotel staff was greatly appreciated. I will book here again very soon!

Room Tip: If you like old world charm, choose a Heritage room.

“love it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

My husband and I stay at this hotel once in a while for an escape-from-the-kids night. We've stayed in both the heritage and contemporary rooms, and they are all lovely. There is covered parking, and the staff are very helpful. The Madison Grill is expensive, food is so-so, and the atmosphere kind of cold No matter, there are plenty of restaurants within half a block.
