Stayed here one night during a short shopping trip. My main interests are in the South Edmonton Common area so the location is perfect, but it's also super-easy to hop onto the Whitemud from this hotel and get to anywhere else you need to go in Edmonton fairly quickly.
The hotel isn't new, though it's pretty well kept...but not fancy or high end. I had a large king 3rd floor room at the front of the hotel above the main entrance. The furnishing were updated and tastefully done. The bed was a Sleepnumber bed (dial it to your preference of hard or soft via remote); I was really excited to try it but it unfortunately didn't lve up to the hype I'd seen on TV. In my opionion it was exactly the same as sleeping on an inflatable air mattresses...when you move or roll over the whole thing has a ripple effect...just like those you would put in a camping tent. At night they locked stairwell access doors to each floor and you could gain access only with your room key, which is a nice security feature. The walls and floors are thick and you couldn't hear noice from your neighbors, but I did hear a couple of screaming girls come off the elevator and run down the hall at 1:30am.
Wifi was free and connected quickly with no issues. Parking was also free and I lucked out both times I drove up and got a spot close to the main entrance. They also have covered underground parking if nothing is available outside the main doors.
I would return if I got another great deal. Again, it's not opulent or new, but was perfect for my needs on this trip.
