Have stayed at this hotel many times on business in the past, but haven't stayed there for about two years. The hotel is clean and comfortable, but it definitely needs a facelift. It seems that about 8 to 10 years ago there was a real building boom of Hampton Inns and Embassy Suites. Great to stay at, but now they are all starting to show their age and are dated.

However, with that being said, the staff was excellent as usual and very friendly. The free breakfast in the morning has improved - they had hot eggs and bacon this time. Kept me going on the road until the next Timmies.

Overall I would stay here again for business or to sleep, but this is not a destination hotel.

The hotel is ok but nothing impressive. Property hasn't changed much in 5 years and it is beginning to show- rooms are looking tired. Gym equipment should to be updated. Location is ok but you need a car and is pretty dismal at night..... no where to really walk to, nothing to see.

That said the service is excellent and the breakfast is good.

Staff was super friendly and accomodating, upgrading me (without asking) to a fabulous 2-room suite. Beds were comfy, towels plentiful, clean and updated decor. Linens and towels were not washed in such harsh chemicals-those that sometimes give you hives! basic restaurants (Chilis, Wendys) were walkable, which was nice since it was below zero and the parking lot, sidewalks, and side roads were a sheet of ice. one suggestion is a "handicap" ramp down to the lower level of the parking lot so luggage is easier to get down, and also to "de-ice" the drop-off/check-in area....this was ripe for someone to slip and fall and get hurt.The closure of the Barlow trail made it difficult to get to since nothing was sent in terms of alternate directions and the rental car GPS keep re-routing you to the Barlow trail.

I was in Calgary for an overnight business trip and decided to try the Hampton based on other travellers reviews and it's handy location. I agree with other reviewers in that the rooms are fairly standard, as long as by standard you mean that they are roomy, spotless, with comfortable beds and linens and quiet as well.
I also agree that the staff are excellent. Friendly, professional and accommodating and obviously concerned with ensuring that you have a great stay with them. BRAVO.
It's also nice that they have a decent free breakfast available for guests, that saving is appreciated.
Well done Hampton Airport. I'll be back!!
