“Liked this Hotel”

The Hotel Arts is a trendy little hotel in downtown Calgary. The location was pretty good, although it is a bit further away from Stephen Avenue than I normally like to stay. A reasonable walk gets you to the heart of things and to great restaurants.
The hotel appears to be an older building that has been updated. The result is a very trendy hotel but one whose bones still reveal some of the less desirable aspects of an older building. However, they have really done a good job to renew this building.
I think the best part was the fabulous staff. The Valets were on their game and fast, the front desk staff was polite and efficient, and all my requests were accommodated. I asked for a room with a view and got a great view of the Calgary tower, I mentioned that we were staying to celebrate a birthday and we were welcomed with a delicious complimentary chocolate desert tray in the room.
When we checked out we also were given a card offering a 20% discount on our next stay.

The rooms were nicely appointed, comfy bed, roomy and flat screen TV.
While this hotel isn't the most luxurious hotel in the city, it was very nice and considering we paid under $130 a night, I thought we got a lot of bang for our buck.

I would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: I would request a view of the Calgary tower.

“Perfect for Business Travelers”

I usually stay here when in Calgary on business and it is part hotel and part art gallery. The price and location suit our needs but this definitely isn't a family hotel. The rooms come equipped with a coffee maker but no fridge which is a must for kids. The restaurant/lounge is also a bit pricey for non-expense account types but there are options nearby.

“Great service at this hotel!!”

I had heard a great deal about this hotel so I decided to try one out.Great location - within walking distance to the Saddledome. The lobby is modern, clean and nicely decorated. I had a room on the 10th floor with a great view of the Calgary Tower and the downtown. The bed was very comfortable, and this says a lot because I usually never sleep well for the first night in a strange bed, I could have taken the bed home with me!

I did not have much time to spend, so did not have time to use the pool or restaurant, but I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff is really friendly and go above and beyond to serve you better!

We were treated so wellf romt he time we arrived to the time we left. We really did enjoy our stay. the beds are exquiste and the room we had was goregous with a great view of the sky line.
we had breakfast at the raw bar and it was great, they even did a little special soemthing for my birthday!
when i called own for things i had no problems getting what i needed - everyone was so accomidating.
we went out for an hour for lunch and came back to a beautiful clean room - it was great how quick they were to get it done!

we had a wonderful time and will go back to this hotel... we had a wonderful weekend we wont forget!

“Average Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Stayed at Hotel Arts for one night in January 2012. Paid $95 for the room using Priceline "name your price" for a Saturday night stay.

Room was as you'd expect, decent beds but "Pillows Pillows Pillows" on the website is a bit of an exaggeration. In room coffee of course, no fridge or microwave. Bathroom door was a sliding door that didn't close completely and lets every noise through, hope you're not embarassed by bodily functions if you stay here!

Hall noise wasn't a problem during the night, you could hear every sound but even though it was a Saturday night, we heard no traffic in the halls.

Check in and out were quick and painless, parking was $10 a day for hotel guests, make sure to check in before paying for parking.

Overall, average experience. Raw Bar downstairs has pretty good cocktails though!
