I stayed for 2 nights and while this wasn't the best hotel, I got what I needed...a place to sleep! No ice on either floor (had to get it from the crab shack), no fridge or microwave, all for $122/night. Definitely not worth that price. Continental breakfast was muffins and fruit. Nothing special. Staff I talked to were nice, except for one. Couldn't care if I was there or not. You want better value? Stay somewhere else!

My wife and I were in Calgary for the weekend. I had a meeting in a downtown hotel on Saturday and another near the airport on Sunday. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the room was small, characteristic of hotels of that age. The bathroom fixtures looked like they were original and showed some wear but the room had been redone recently and certainly suited our purposes. If you have a car parking is free, parking was $15 at the downtown hotel. There are several 'family type' restaurants within eash walking distance. The free, cold breakfast provided was pretty minimal so we went to the restaurant next door for a hot breakfast. I would stay there again.

The only good thing I have to say about this place is the free cab service to and from the airports. Although the cabbies look at you like you owe them something! I arrived at 11:30am to check in and was told by a staff member id have to wait till 3:00 to check in so I sat and waited. Meanwhile a man walks in around 12 checks in with the manager perfectly! Do you see something wrong here. Bad service if you ask me. The windows in the room were so drafty you'd swear I had the window opened. There was a whistling sound all night and there is hardly any hot water. The bathtubs are granted on with dirt, and internet service was crap it gave out for hours. The pool was shutdown due to something in the water and they don't have a gym till they find out where there going to put it, which has taken them a year since iv'e been staying there. My advice is to spend the extra 20 bucks and go stay at the Port O Call. Peace!

I've spent over 20 nights here. i run my own business and often visit Calgary and usually stay here except in the mid summer when prices go up. Sure it needs some maintenance like wallpaper,showers and heating but apart from once the rooms are always clean. it can occaisionaly be noisy because of traffic, babies or the heating system or fridge but generally OK during most of the night. some of the non smoking rooms have been smoked in. Based on my experience you have over 80% chance of having an acceptable sleep.The front desk staff are so pleasant, helpful and friendly. You won't find better front desk staff than here.
