Not a good 1st impression, filthy from the front door onwards. Carpets throughout haven't seen a vacuum for a long time and they were badly stained. In major need of a revamp.
Swimming pool & slide had a greasy grey slick on it so we didn't use them.
Overall the place was cringeable.
The surrounding area looked very rundown and we did not venture out in the dark.
The only positive was easy access to the train into Calgary.

I read some awful reviews about this hotel before going but my friend had made the reservation so I arrived expecting the worst. We had a King Suite and it was fine for three. A bit dark but clean enough. Clean bedding and towels. The hotels in Motel Village are old but not a lot of choice if you need to be in that area.

I do a lot of travelling and the room I stayed in was among the most unkempt I have encountered in a long time. There was open water bottles when we got there. There was garbage in the sink and change on the floor. There was a stain on the wall (ick). The bed comforters needed cleaning. The hallway floors needed serious vaccumming and in general needed better housekeeping. Pool was unheated but my kids didn't seem to mind. Breakfast was typical continental - no worse, no better. Won't be staying there again with so many options.

The staff were lovely, very helpfull. the rooms were clean, large and quiet. car park was small it seemed safe but leave nothing visible, There is a really nice steak house near by, " Nicks" really tasty and worth it!
