This hotel chain has some very nice properties, this is nothing like any of them. They talk about a big "renovation" in 2006 - so far as I can tell it consisted of tub liners, tub surrounds and a new sink and counter in the bathroom. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls, the door to my room had a hole in it, the dead bolt wouldn't work, there was a spill of diesel fuel in the basement and the whole back of the hotel smelled of diesel, I called the front desk, no action , no apology, nothing. The hallways and doors have damage on them. Breakfast is weak coffee, a bizarre do-it-yourself waffle maker, the slowest toaster on the planet, Cheerios from the 1990's and scones that could easily serve as hockey pucks. The breakfast is served in the cavernous pool area, dark, damp and only 3 or 4 guests. The thermostat in the room did not work and frost formed on the door to the balcony marked "do not open, alarm will sound". The paint and carpet are dingy, the TV is an old CRT, all the accessible power outlets turn off when you turn off the lights so if you want to charge a laptop or iPod you have to crawl behind the bed to get an "always on" plug. Sheets not pressed on the bed, it looked like they had not been changed before I checked in - wrinkled and worn. Blanket thin, bedspread not clean. Room tiny, dark (and smelly the diesel fuel day). Parking underground is closed and the parking spaces are too short making getting around difficult when guests have giant stretched cab 4 by 4's partially blocking the roadway.
